  5. ~A few tips.
  6.  
  7. Civilians have Mana, so cast Possess Spells on their buildings to
  8. gain control of the Mana.  Be careful though, not to kill them.
  9.  
  10. If you're getting infested by slow movinng creatures in their
  11. large numbers, then try destroying your castle using SHIFT L and
  12. then cast a Castle Spell on top of them, until you have squashed
  13. them all.  Then use the Possess Spell to collect their Mana.
  14.  
  15. On later levels you can use nearby monsters to destroy rival 
  16. castle's.  To do this simply lure them nearby the rival castle and
  17. fly away, they should then concentrate on the destruction of this
  18. new target.

  20. When your health is getting low, hightail out of a battle to gain a
  21. little back.

  31. Flying Tips

  33. Slip sliding away.
  34. Learn to use the left and right strafing keys propely,as when used 
  35. in conjusction with the backward and foward keys you can raelly 
  36. pull off some amazing moves during play.For example,when attacking 
  37. a castle use the left and right arrow keys to fly sideways around it 
  38. while shooting spells.This will make it harder for the archers to hit 
  39. you.

  44. If you are in a tight spot and don't have enough mana to cast 
  45. accelerate, quickly turn yourself left to a 45-degree angle away 
  46. from the direction in which you want to fly,and hold down the 
  47. forward key and right strafe key.You will actually fly there 
  48. quicker than if you flew in a straight line!

  53. For extremely quick left turning use the right arrow key and the 
  54. backwards arrow key together.For turning right,press left arrow 
  55. key and the backwards.This gives you a big advantage.

  60. If you have someone on your tail,shooting you in the back don't turn 
  61. around and face them directly.It's better to reverse as quickly as 
  62. possible,and pop up behind them.If you have the Accelerate backwards 
  63. spell.all the better!

  68. If you find yourself short of mana,fly around the level possessing 
  69. all the buildings you can.  This can sometimes yield huge amounts on 
  70. mana to play with as most wizards tend to ignore buildings.

  79. I wonder if you could help me. I am on a level in magic carpet where
  80. there is really only one main island with walled of compartments on 
  81. it.  I can get in and collect spells as you go, each time triggering 
  82. more monsters and the exit to the next walled off compartment, but 
  83. now I am stuck.  There are at least two areas I can not get into, 
  84. one contains another spell.  I cannot cast my castle spell anywhere 
  85. so I have no safety.

  89. You CAN cast the castle spell! Its in the upper right area on the map 
  90. (in one of the corners), the corner with the masses of creatures in 
  91. it, i.e the rock throwers and the worms, you can just get one tower 
  92. right in the middle.

  97. The Last compartment contains soilders and a dragon. I can't 
  98. seriously be expected to kill a dragon with just fireball spells.

  102. Thats exactly what you have to do! I know it sounds impossible but 
  103. if you hammering away at it and make good use of the teleporters to 
  104. get out of the way you should have it within 5 minutes! Trust me:)

  106. When the wyvern dies I think this triggers off the opening of the
  107. door, from here on you can teleport back outside the island and 
  108. build a massive castle (7) after destroying the internal one with 
  109. SHIFT-L.

  116.      a) build your castle.
  117.      b) get to the compartment with the spell and exit already in it.
  118. and  c) kill them all slowly.

  123. If all else fails use maphack to create a level land! This will all 
  124. access to all the spells from the start. I'm on the last level now! 
  125. Played level 48 for about 1.5 hrs then it crashed out to dos !! (This
  126. has happened twice now, and on a friends pentium).

  131. I just completed level 33 in magic carpet. Either this is by far the
  132. weirdest level till now, or I exploited a bug to finish it. To find 
  133. out, I'll describe how I did it, and would like to know, if you did 
  134. it in another way...

  136. Level 33 : Jahrrsomething is a labyrinth island with rooms connected 
  137. by magic portals. In the beginning, I find it impossible to find any 
  138. place to build any castle. After killing the wyvern appearing in the 
  139. third-last room, and the crabs in the first room, I flew around for 
  140. a LONG time, without knowing what to do. Finally, I found a few 
  141. places, where it was possible to build a level 1 castle. It was also 
  142. possible to break down some walls with the castle spell, but I was 
  143. not allowed to go through the hole - that is - after traversing the 
  144. series of rooms once more, I was suddenly allowed to pass a broken 
  145. barrier, and I could extend it to lead me to the outside.  Outside, 
  146. I could build a big castle, and thereby restore equilibrium. There 
  147. was still two rooms, which I did not enter. I did not find enough 
  148. space to break down the walls to these roome from the inside, and 
  149. did not try from the outside. At the top of the wall adjacent to 
  150. one of the rooms, there was a spell, which I never got close
