  37. ii. Description of Demo
  38.  
  39. We have created this playable demo to allow people to experience
  40. a small sample of what DeltaV has to offer.  This demo starts out 
  41. by running the beginning intro of the game.  The intro will cycle
  42. if left unattended.  In order to bypass the intro and play a 
  43. selected run, it will be neccessary to hit the <ESC> several times
  44. to get to the demo selection screen.  Once at the selection screen
  45. the player is able to select from one of three difficulty levels.
  46. Simply move the input device over the level of difficulty and press
  47. the selector key.

  49. If this is your first time playing DeltaV, we strongly suggest starting
  50. on the lowest level of difficulty.
  51.  
  52. Remember: we have only selected three levels from DeltaV. We have not 
  53. included any of the story line, mission briefings, tactical briefings,
  54. etc.  This demo is only meant to whet your appetite by allowing the 
  55. user to experience the intense action DeltaV has to offer.

  58. iii.  General Hints and Tips
  59.  
  60. DeltaV is a fast-paced action flight adventure.  Below is a list of
  61. several tips that will make you a more successful runner. 
  62.  
  63.     - Speed is governed by altitude. The higher your altitude, the
  64.       slower your forward velocity. In order to go fast, you need
  65.       to hug the bottom of the trench, but remember this will build
  66.       up heat and may eventually damage your trace.
  67.  
  68.     - It is usually safer to remain beneath the trench lip. Enemy
  69.       ICE will have a much harder time tracking you.
  70.  
  71.     - Some obstacles may require you to go outside of the trench, 
  72.       but the penalty will be the greater danger of enemy fire. It
  73.       is a trade-off, so make your choices wisely.
  74.  
  75.     - Energy and armor are valuable to your success. Keep an eye 
  76.       on the green and blue bars on your HUD at all times.
  77.  
  78. As you progress, you will find new and hidden items to destroy or
  79. capture. Be on the look out for Power Rings, Mind Fields, Power
  80. Spins, Bonus Trenches and more.

  82. DeltaV is shipped with maximum detail set as default. If needed, 
  83. game speed and playability may be improved by pressing 
  84. <alt-s> during flight and modifying parameters in the GRAPHICS 
  85. CONFIGURATION screen. This will be extremely important for players 
  86. with slower machines.
