  25. GoldWave is a sound editor, player, recorder, and converter
  26. for Windows 95 to 2000.  You can use it to make Web page
  27. sounds, answering machine messages, or even record your own
  28. CDs (when used with CD writer/software).

  80. 2.0 Installation, Uninstall

  83. 2.1) Installation

  85. If you downloaded the self-installing version, simply run
  86. the program.
  87.  
  88. If you downloaded the zip version, create a new
  89. "GoldWave" folder, such as:
  90.   C:\Program Files\GoldWave
  91. and unzip or copy all files into that folder.  Create a short
  92. cut to the "goldwave.exe" program file in the folder.

  94. 2.2) Uninstall
  95.  
  96. If you installed the self-installing version, you can use
  97. the Windows "Add/Remove Programs" feature under Control Panel.
  98.  
  99. To manually uninstall, delete the following files from your
  100. Windows folder:
  101.     express.eqx
  102.     gwpreset.ini
  103.     goldwave.ini
  104. Delete the GoldWave folder.  Other files are listed in
  105. section 4.0.

  109. 3.0 Important Additional Notes
  110. --------------------------------------------------------------

  112. 3.1) Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT 4.00 or later is required to
  113. run this version.
  114.  
  115. 3.2) Video display must be configured for 16-bit colour for
  116. best results.  If you experience any lock-ups during recording
  117. or playback, update your video driver and your sound card
  118. driver.
  119.  
  120. 3.3) For MPEG Layer 3 support (mp3) you must have the Windows
  121. Media modules installed.  Installing the new version of
  122. Media Player will add these modules to your system.  To save
  123. MP3 files, either BladeEnc.dll or Lame_Enc.dll needs to be
  124. installed in the GoldWave folder.
