- This directory contains the following components:

- This is the User Location Server.

- To Install the User Location Service
- ------------------------------------
- If you have a Windows NT Server(R) running the Microsoft
- Internet Information Server, you may set up your own
- User Location Service.

- Server Configuration

- - Windows NT version 3.51 with Service Pack 4, or version 4.0
- - Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
- - World Wide Web Service

- Instructions
- ------------
- 1. Start the Microsoft Internet Service Manager.
- 2. Make sure the WWW Service is running.
- A. If it is not running, select the service, then click
- on the Start Service button.
- 3. View the properties of the WWW Service.
- 4. Click the Directories tab in the WWW Service property sheet.
- 5. Select the home directory.
- 6. Click the Edit Properties button.
- 7. Check the Execute check box in the Access group and press OK.
- 8. Click the Advanced tab in the IIS WWW Service Property sheet.
- 9. Grant access to the people you want to be able to access
- your server.
- 10. Press OK.
- 11. Copy ULSERVER.dll from the ULS directory into the
- IIS WWW Service home directory. (ex. \winnt\system32\inetsrv\wwwroot)
- 12. Quit the Microsoft Internet Service Manager.
- 13. Shutdown and restart the machine.
- 14. Use the Microsoft Internet Service Manager to make
- sure the IIS WWW Service is running.
- 15. Open a WWW Browser
- 16. Open the URL http://servername/ulserver.dll?act=dir, substituting
- your the name of your WWW server for "servername" above.

- Note: the final two steps can be done from another machine and must
- be done each time the service is stopped or the machine rebooted.
