  1. WELCOME TO THE LOTUS SMARTSUITE 97 CD-ROM

  4. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
  5. - 486/DX2 running at 66Mhz or higher
  6.   (Pentium processor recommended)
  7. - 8Mb RAM (16Mb recommended)
  8. - Windows 3.1x or Windows 95
  9. - 640x480 graphics card and display
  10. - 256 colours
  11. - Double-speed CD-ROM drive
  12. - Soundblaster compatible sound card and
  13.   speakers (recommended)
  14. - 82Mb (minimum) to 220Mb (maximum) available
  15.   hard disk space for
  16.   SmartSuite 97 installation - optional
  17.  
  18. TO RUN THIS PROGRAM:
  19. - Windows 3.1x:
  20.         - Close all open applications
  21.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  22.         - Go to File and select Run
  23.         - Type D:\S_Suite.exe where 'D:' is your
  24.           CD-ROM drive
  25.  
  26. - Windows 95:
  27.         - Close all open applications
  28.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  29.         - The program will auto-run when inserted
  30.           into your CD-ROM drive
  31.  
  32. INSTALLING SMARTSUITE 97 30-DAY TRIAL VERSION:
  33. - Windows 3.1x:
  34.         - SmartSuite 97 is only available for Windows
  35.         95 - it will not work in Windows 3.1x!
  36.         SmartSuite 4.5 is the latest version of
  37.         SmartSuite for Windows 3.1x - please contact
  38.         your local reseller for full product
  39.         information.
  40.  
  41. - Windows 95:
  42.         - If you have a previous version of the
  43.         application that you are installing from the
  44.         trial CD, you must specify a different
  45.         directory for the 30-day trial version. If you
  46.         do not specify a different directory, the
  47.         install program will overwrite the previous
  48.         version of the application with the 30-day
  49.         trial version.
  50.  
  51.         - If you have previously installed SmartSuite
  52.         96 and you do not want to upgrade your
  53.         SmartSuite 96 applications to the 30-day trial
  54.         version, you must specify a different main
  55.         directory and different product directories
  56.         for the 30-day trial version. You can specify
  57.         the directories for the 30-day trial version
  58.         of SmartSuite 97 from the Install Program
  59.         dialogue boxes. You can specify the main
  60.         folder in the Specify Lotus SmartSuite Folder
  61.         dialogue box. You can specify the product
  62.         folders in the Select Lotus SmartSuite
  63.         Applications dialogue box.

  65.         - If you have previously installed a 16-bit
  66.         version of SmartSuite, you must not have the
  67.         Install Program remove obsolete files. Choose
  68.         'No' in the Obsolete Files dialogue box.

  70. UNINSTALLING SMARTSUITE 97 30-DAY TRIAL VERSION:
  71. You can uninstall the 30-day trial version of
  72. SmartSuite 97 by following these
  73. instructions:

  75. - Windows 95:
  76.         - Choose Start - Settings - Control Panel
  77.           from the Taskbar
  78.         - Double-click Add/Remove programs
  79.         - Select Lotus SmartSuite 97
  80.         - Choose Add/Remove
  81.         - Select the application/s to be removed
  82.         - Click OK

  84. VIDEO FOR WINDOWS:
  85. This program uses Video for Windows. If you do not
  86. have the software installed on your PC, you may
  87. install it by following these instructions:
  88.  
  89. - Windows 3.1x:
  90.         - Close all open applications
  91.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  92.         - Go to File and select Run
  93.         - Type D:\Vfw\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your
  94.           CD-ROM drive
  95.  
  96. - Windows 95:
  97.         - Close all open applications
  98.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  99.         - The program will auto-run when inserted
  100.           into your CD-ROM drive
  101.         - Press the <Esc> key to exit
  102.         - Choose Start - Run from the Taskbar
  103.         - Type D:\Vfw\Setup.exe where 'D:' is your
  104.           CD-ROM drive
  105.  
  106. ADOBE ACROBAT:
  107. This program uses Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0. If you do
  108. not have the software installed on your PC, you may
  109. either install it from within the program, or follow
  110. these instructions:

  112. - Windows 3.1x (strongly recommended):
  113.         - Close all open applications
  114.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  115.         - Go to File and select Run
  116.         - Type D:\Acroread\16bit\Setup.exe where 'D:'
  117.           is your CD-ROM drive
  118.  
  119. - Windows 95:
  120.         - Close all open applications
  121.         - Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive
  122.         - The program will auto-run when inserted
  123.           into your CD-ROM drive
  124.         - Press the <Esc> key to exit
  125.         - Go to the Start menu and select Run
  126.         - Type D:\Acroread\32bit\Setup.exe where 'D:'
  127.           is your CD-ROM drive

  129. LOTUS SCREENCAM 97:
  130. This program contains Lotus ScreenCam 97 movies. The
  131. ScreenCam viewer software is included, but some of the
  132. ScreenCam movies are designed for playback at higher
  133. resolution or at more than 256 colours. If this causes
  134. problems, reset your display to 800x600 resolution at
  135. 65,000 (16 bit) colour.

  137. Lotus ScreenCam 97 is a Windows 95 application, and
  138. therefore the ScreenCam 97 movies will not run under
  139. Windows 3.1x.

  141. INTERNET FUNCTIONALITY:
  142. This program contains links to Lotus resources on the
  143. Internet. To use this function, you must have a modem,
  144. an Internet connection and appropriate browser
  145. software installed.

  147. CONTROL KEYS:
  148. To aid navigation through the program, we have included
  149. the following control keys:
  150. - Esc - Quit
  151. - Q   - Quit
  152. - <Ctrl> Q - Quit
