  11. The newest version of this preogram is avaliable from: 
  12. ftp://oak.oakland.edu/SimTel/win3/fileutil/spltw1xx.zip
  13. or any SimTel mirror site (demo version).

  15. To install this program please copy files splitwin.exe and splitwin.hlp
  16. to any directory, then in the program manager add splitwin.exe to any group.
  17. This program is shareware and may be copied freely for evaluation purposes.
  18. It can be used for 30 days for evaluation. It must be registered after that
  19. time.
  20. SplitWin is a utility for splitting big files into parts and then
  21. merging them back in the Windows 3.1 environment.
  22. The purpose of this program is to split big files into smaller chunks 
  23. or merge chunks back to original file. This can be useful, when coping 
  24. big files to floppy diskettes, or transferring files via e-mail. 
  25. Each of the chunks has header containing information on name of the 
  26. original file, the size, the number of parts file was cut into and which 
  27. part it is. This eliminates errors that occur with the existing programs
  28. that divide big files.
  29. If the original file name is Eg  MYFILE.ABC  then the chunks will have names 
  30. MYFILE.Z00, MYFILE.Z01,..., MYFILE.Z0n
  31.  
  32. Usage:  
  33.  
  34. Drag the file (you desire to split/merge) from the file manager window and 
  35. drop it over the SplitWin Icon or client area or use commands. 
  36. The first time activated SplitWin runs minimised, but if you prefer you can 
  37. uncheck "run minimised" and the next time activated, it will run not minimised.
  38.  
  39. Splitwin is shareware. This copy can be used only for 30 trial days.
  40. If you want use program after that period, you should register.
  41.  
  42. Registered users will receive registered copy of the latest version 
  43. of  SplitWin.exe for windows, and compatible with it versions of split.com 
  44. and merge.com for dos, and C source of splitu and mergeu for UNIX (it can 
  45. be usefull to transfer big files between UNIX and MSDOS on floppy disks).
  46. A single machine licence is US$ 15.00 (personal cheque) or US$ 10.00 (cash
  47. or equvialent amount in exchangeable currency, fee for cashing personal US
  48. cheques is so high that it does not cover costs, anyway risk of loss when 
  49. sending such small cash via mail is minimal), alternatively you can send 
  50. bank oversees draft cheque in Australian dollars for the amount AUD$ 13.00 
  51. (Australian users it can be personal cheque), a licence for company-wide 
  52. use is US$ 100.00, or AUD$ 130.00 respectively.
  53. The programs can be send via e-mail or floppy by air mail, please state which
  54. you prefer, and which format of binary encoding to use, when sending via
  55. e-mail (uuencode, MIME)
