  40. The PC/2 package (consisting of the OS/2 PM application PC/2 and the WPS 
  41. program Object WPS 2 PC/2) is classified as Freeware. Under the copyright, you 
  42. are allowed and encouraged to freely use, distribute or modify this program 
  43. under the following conditions:

  45. o The complete source code and all executables must be included. This rule also 
  46.   applies for any modifications/recompilitions you've made. Just drop me a 
  47.   short note descibing the changes. 
  48. o You may only charge for the costs of duplicating. Distribution on InterNet, 
  49.   FidoNet or similar is preferred. Therefore, this program must not be sold by 
  50.   immoral "Public Domain & ShareWare" dealers that charge a price way over the 
  51.   actual duplication costs. 
  52. o Any commercial use is prohibited without contacting me beforehand, except for 
  53.   incorporating the concept or code in any future release of OS/2 by IBM.  This 
  54.   however this clause doesn't apply to individual private use.

  66. this utility, you are welcome to send me a small fee of about 50 to 150 
  67. Austrian Schillings (about 5 to 15 dollars) to my home address. Of course you

  69. donations in cash - it is a lot of trouble to work with foreign money orders or 
  70. equivalent, here in Austria, plus the banks charge an arm and a leg!

  73. to send new versions or anything else by mail (which is likely to become a

  98. PC/2 is a WPS program that can be used as an interface between the Workplace 
  99. Shell and PC/2. Because information about WPS Objects is not available for 
  100. programs not running in the WPS's address space, PC/2 was developed: 
  101.  
  102. o to run within the WPS's address space to be able to access detailed 
  103.   information about WPS Objects 
  104. o to exchange the extracted detailed information with PC/2 by using Drag'n Drop 
  105. o to use the information extracted from the WPS by creating menuitems for 
  106.   PC/2's Popup Menu 
  107.  
  108. To extract information from the WPS for use within PC/2, just drag any WPS 
  109. Object or Objects onto the icon of the PC/2 WPS Object on the Desktop. PC/2 
  110. will immediately extract detailed information about the WPS Objects dropped. 
  111. PC/2 allows you to extract WPS Object of classes WPProgram, WPFolder, any other 
  112. WPS Object that has an Object ID defined, or WPShadow Objects of the previously 
  113. mentioned classes. If the WPS Object is of classes WPProgram or WPFolder and 
  114. has an Object ID defined additionally, the Object ID will be ignored, because 
  115. using the Object ID requires the WPS running to launch them, when selecting 
  116. them from PC/2's Popup Menu.

  118. You can then create Menuitems for PC/2's Popup Menu by dragging from the Status 
  119. bitmap on PC/2's window to the Setup dialog of PC/2. 
  120.  
  121. This allows you to use the same settings of your WPS Objects within PC/2's 
  122. Popup Menu without entering them twice. Imagine your favorite application 
  123. installs a folder containing programs with complicated settings onto the WPS. 
  124. To use your favorite application within PC/2's Popup Menu too, just extract its 
  125. folder by dragging it onto PC/2's icon, and then drag the extracted data from 
  126. PC/2's window to PC/2's Setup dialog. Voila - your favorite application is 
  127. available from PC/2 too, its that easy!

  130.             Help or press F1. PC/2 and PC/2 are both installed by PC/2's 
  131.             installation program. You can rerun the installation, if PC/2 is

  139. The PC/2 window is the window of the PC/2 WPS Object that reflects the status 
  140. of extracting detailed information about WPS Objects for use within PC/2.

  142. This window consists of the following parts:

  146. WPS Objects extracted This listbox contains the title of all WPS Objects that 
  147.             have been extracted by dragging them onto the icon of PC/2 up to 
  148.             now. If this listbox is empty, you haven't dropped any WPS Objects 
  149.             yet.

  151. Status 
  152.  
  153.    (Status empty) If the Empty "Suitcase" Status bitmap is displayed, you 
  154.                haven't dropped any WPS Objects onto the icon of PC/2 yet. You 
  155.                may also notice that this bitmap always corresponds to an empty 
  156.                WPS Objects extracted listbox.

  158.    (Status filled)

  160.                If the filled status bitmap is displayed, you've already dropped 
  161.                at least one WPS Object onto the icon of PC/2. You may also 
  162.                notice that this bitmap always corresponds to at least one entry 
  163.                in the WPS Objects extracted listbox.

  165.                Only when the suitcase filled status appears, you can drag the 
  166.                extracted information into PC/2's Setup dialog. Move the pointer 
  167.                onto this bitmap and just drag the bitmap onto the listbox of 
  168.                PC/2's setup dialog. Immediately after dropping the bitmap, the 
  169.                information extracted from the WPS Objects is converted to Popup 
  170.                Menu menuitems by PC/2.

  172.                After successfully finishing the Drag'n Drop operation, PC/2 
  173.                clears itself, being ready to extract further WPS Objects. 
  174.  
  175. Clear       By selecting this button, PC/2 clears itself, being ready to 
  176.             extract WPS Objects. You may use this button, if you have extracted 
  177.             one or more WPS Objects by mistake.

  179. Help        Press the Help button to display the help page you are currently 
  180.             reading.
