  1. This ia a new and hopefully improved version of Makemap, my utility for
  2. creating Fractint color MAPs. To install (No setup program yet. Sorry.) unzip
  3. the files into your main Fractint directory (where you keep your MAP files).
  4. To run Makemap, you can do any of the following:
  5.     1.    Install it into the Program Manager using the File New command
  6.         and then double click on the icon.
  7.     2.    Go to your Fractint directory with the File Manager where you
  8.         put Makemap and double click on makemap.exe
  9.     3.    Go to your Fractint directory with the File Manager and use
  10.         the File Run command.
  11. Please note that makemap.hlp and bwcc.dll must be in the same directory as
  12. makemap.exe, in the windows directory or in the windows\system directory.
  13. I am assuming here that you are fairly familiar with Windows.

  21. Bug fixes:
  22.     1.    Limit checks on all parameters
  23.     2.    The HSI utility no longer crashes the program if out of range
  24.         parameters are entered.
  25.  
  26. Enhancements:
  27.     1.    Color map editing. Individual colors or ranges of colors can
  28.         be changed. The map can be rotated forward or backward.
  29.     2.    The first color in the map can be set to black or the color
  30.         generated by one of the program utilities.
  31.     3.    The default entries can be cleared from the Sine and Fourier
  32.         utilities.
  33.     4.    Start and stop ranges can be set for the HSI and RGB
  34.         utilities.
  35.     5.    The help file (run from the menu of Makemap) contains full
  36.         instructions on use of the program.
