  24. SECTION 1 - INTRODUCTION
  25.  
  26. The Kiosk eliminates the need for technical user understanding by allowing
  27. any image to be used as the user interface. Building on this capability, 
  28. additional navigational choices have been included to allow fixed 
  29. full-screen browsing via: 
  30.  
  31.     - A configurable "Hotlist" supporting up to 6 defined levels of 
  32.       navigation. 
  33.     - A "Session History" to quickly back-track to recent information.
  34.     - Shortcuts to allow "forward" and "backward" access to Kiosk 
  35.       images.

  38. SECTION 2 - COMPATABILITY ISSUES

  40. 2.1 Platforms Supported
  41.  
  42. The Kiosk is supported on all Windows platforms.

  45. 2.2 Attempt to load an Invalid HTML file
  46.  
  47. If you attempt to load an HTML file that doesn't exist, an error message will 
  48. be displayed. When OK is selected The Kiosk will remain loaded but the right 
  49. mouse button will not be available. To exit The Kiosk press ALT-F4.

  52. SECTION 3 - TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
  53.  
  54. This section is intended for system administrators who wish to gain more 
  55. information regarding The Kiosk to create front end interfaces for their users.

  57. Included Samples
  58.  
  59. Three samples have been included in this release that show the different ways
  60. The Kiosk can be used. Before running these samples it is necessary to configure
  61. them using the supplied UDSAMPLE.EXE. This program allows the configuration of 
  62. what each hotlink will perform once clicked upon. Load the program by selecting 
  63. "Initialize Kiosk Samples" from The Kiosk Program Group.
  64. The program will display 11 categories that can be associated with a particular
  65. application. A number of the categories will have default values  i.e. 
  66. Memo=Notepad.exe. Configure the samples as you wish and select update samples to 
  67. complete the process. You can now load each of the samples.

  71. If Kiosk is loaded on its own with no .htm or .html file a default screen will be
  72. displayed.

  76. It is possible to configure the right click menu to launch applications or web pages,
  77. this can be done in the QuickMenu section of the Kiosk.ini located in your Windows
  78. directory. For example if you which to launch command.com from the right click menu 
  79. from within Kiosk you would enter:
