  4. POPIt obviously connects to the Internet as part of itÆs
  5.  function. You will configure it with some private
  6.  information in the form of your POP mailbox(s) Name and
  7.  Password. With that I have an important responsibility in
  8.  assuring that this information DOES NOT LEAVE YOUR PC. To
  9.  that end, I will now detail the communications that take
  10.  place with this program and the Internet, and hopefully
  11.  ease your mind as to the privacy of your EMAIL and
  12.  mailbox information. 
  13.  
  14.   1.POP3: Port 110 is used to login to the specified
  15.           servers, get the number of messages waiting, and
  16.           retrieve the headers. NO MAIL IS EVER DELETED
  17.           WITHOUT YOUR CONFIRMATION.
  18.  
  19.   2.SMTP: Port 25 is used by the InstaReply and InstaNote
  20.           features to send Internet mail messages.  It is
  21.           also used to automatically send a registration 
  22.           notification to the POPIt registrar listserver
  23.           upon the registation of POPIt.  A copy of this
  24.           messages is also sent to you. Only your Hard 
  25.           Drive "C:" serial number and installation date
  26.           are transmitted to the registrar for use in
  27.           preventing a registered copy from working on
  28.           more than one machine.  Your POP3 mailbox
  29.           Password(s) ARE NOT transmitted in any form
  30.           (encrypted or otherwise).

  32. NO OTHER COMPUTER, SYSTEM, OR PASSWORD INFORMATION IS EVER
  33. SENT. NO MAIL IS EVER DUPLICATED, MODIFIED OR FORWARDED.

  42. This is the POPIt16 POP3 Mail Client program for Windows
  43.  3.11 and Windows NT 3.50 ("Software").

  45. This Software is owned by Productive Programming Inc.
  46.  ("PPI"), a Pennsylvainia corporation.

  48. The Software source code, object code and associated
  49.  materials are all Copyrighted ⌐ 1996 PPI.

  51. PPI grants to the user a nonexclusive license to use this
  52.  Software solely for its internal private purposes. The
  53.  user shall not distribute, sublicense, resell, or
  54.  otherwise transfer for any consideratione, the Software
  55.  or any modification or derivation thereof, either alone
  56.  or in conjunction with any other product or program
  57.  without express prior written permission from PPI.
  58.  However, the shareware setup kit (i.e. compressed ZIP
  59.  file) may be freely distributed with the express
  60.  understanding that the popit.ini file and/or the user's
  61.  or anyone else's registration code shall NOT be
  62.  duplicated or given to any third party, under any
  63.  circumstance. Further, the user shall not modify the
  64.  Software without express prior written permission
  65.  from PPI.
