  39.    Netscape Communicator Preview Release 3 is being shipped in
  40.    a Full package that includes Plug-ins, and a Typical
  41.    package that does not include Plug-ins.
  42.  
  43.    To run the 32-bit Communicator, you MUST have a 32-bit TCP/IP stack.
  44.    Both Windows 95 and Windows NT provide built-in 32bit TCP/IP
  45.    stacks that you can setup.  You can also get (32 bit) TCP/IP
  46.    software from third party vendors like Trumpet Software,
  47.    and Ftp Software.

  49.    To obtain a copy of Netscape Communicator, download one of the
  50.    self-extracting executable files into a temporary directory.

  55.    Just double click on the self-extracting file
  56.    to automatically start the installation process.

  59. * Windows 95 users, if you are using any versions prior to this
  60.   release, you will get multiple uninstall entries in your
  61.   Add/Remove program.  If you prefer not having multiple
  62.   entries, you should do an uninstall to remove your previous
  63.   version of Netscape before you install the new release.

  65. * The Netscape Audio Plug-in will only work if you have a sound
  66.   card installed and configured properly.  It will not work
  67.   with the PC speaker driver. Please check your sound card manual
  68.   to configure the sound card.

  70. * If you had previously installed CoolTalk Watchdog, then you must
  71.   uninstall the version you have and reboot your machine before
  72.   installing the latest version.  You might experience some
  73.   problems running Cooltalk with Matrox MGA Millennium graphic 
  74.   adapters using early Windows95 drivers. Make sure that you are 
  75.   running version 2.22.039 or above.

  91. What do I need to run Netscape Communicator?
  92.

  94. You must have a direct Internet connection before you can use
  95. Netscape Communicator. The ability to send and receive e-mail does not
  96. necessarily mean you can run Netscape Communicator. There are three
  97. requirements for Netscape Communicator:
  98.  
  99.     1. A direct Ethernet connection to the net, or a dialup
  100.        SLIP or PPP account from an Internet service provider.
  101.  
  102.     2. TCP/IP stack
  103.  
  104.     3. Netscape Communicator software
  105.  
  106. You can get a direct connection to the Internet through a service
  107. provider in your area.  You will need to get a SLIP or a PPP
  108. account from an Internet provider (for a dialup account).
  109.  
  110. When you have full Internet connectivity, you need to have a
  111. TCP/IP stack, dialer, and WINSOCK.DLL file.
  112.  
  113. If you get the error message "Cannot find WINSOCK.DLL" when
  114. running Netscape Communicator, this means your computer is looking
  115. for the WINSOCK.DLL file which is part of the winsock package.

  123. The Netscape installer will overwrite existing OLE2 DLLs with the
  124. latest versions for US Windows. This will not affect 32-bit
  125. Windows. Occasionally, the Japanese user may see an English
  126. language OLE2 error message after installing Netscape Communicator.
  127. Currently, there are no Japanese versions available for the OLE2 DLLs.
  128. Netscape is working with Microsoft to make
  129. the Japanese version of the OLE2 DLLs available.
