Congratulations on choosing Micrografx QuickSilver(TM) from Micrografx(R), an ActiveX control for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and a plug-in for Netscape Navigator(TM) version 3.0 that extends the Micrografx Graphics Suite(TM), allowing users to place, view and interact with object graphics inside Web pages. Micrografx QuickSilver's new object graphics technology makes creating and viewing dynamic Internet graphics easier and faster. Quicksilver version 3.0 now provides additional transition effects, object layer animation, object builds, Zoom panning, group symbol naming and other enhancements which make QuickSilver an exciting delivery vehicle for Internet vector graphics.
WebCharter 2.0 allows you to create webcharts which make maintenance and administration of web sites quick and easy. WebCharter 2.0 also supports the creation of full web site flowcharts using Micrografx Micrografx FlowCharter. Please refer to the Online Help documents that are provided with this installation. System Requirements
-------------------
Micrografx QuickSilver 3.0 is an ActiveX control for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 and beyond as well as a plug-in for Netscape Navigator versions 3.0 and beyond. The Micrografx Graphics Suite is required to edit or create interactive graphics, but is not required to view Micrografx QuickSilver object graphics inside Web pages. Micrografx QuickSilver 3.0 runs under Windows 95 and Windows NT.
Installation
------------
The Micrografx QuickSilver installer will detect the presence of Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer and provide you with the option of installing the appropriate Plug-in, ActiveX Control, both or neither depending on your system configuration. If you have multiple versions of a browser installed, the installer will detect only the latest one. Installing multiple versions of a browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.) it's not recommended. This may cause confusion during installation.
If you are running a version of Internet Explorer prior to 3.0, Micrografx QuickSilver will not install the ActiveX control. Please update your Internet Explorer to version 3.0 or higher.
The installer will not detect any beta versions of Internet Explorer 3.0; hence the option to install Internet Explorer 3.0 ActiveX control will not be provided.
If you have purchased and installed previous versions of QuickSilver on your system, the installer will detect it and set the target path to it. If you choose to install QuickSilver 3.0 over the older version, the installer will rename any long filename directories, (e. g. "Ready Use"), to short filenames. If you have a shortcut or a link pointing to one of these files or directories, you will have to re-create that shortcut or link again.
Windows NT 3.51 Installation Note
--------------------------------
The installer was not thoroughly tested under Windows NT 3.51. If you decide to install on Windows NT 3.51, you might run into problems especially uninstalling the product and it's components.
ActiveX components cannot be installed on Windows NT 3.51. So, you will not be able to install WebCharter on Windows NT 3.51 because it needs to install ActiveX components.
Windows NT 4.0 Installation Note
--------------------------------
During installation, you might encounter a message box asking if you want to overwrite the file OLEAUT32.DLL. Click No so the installation routine DOES NOT overwrite this file.
Known Problems
--------------
You cannot print a Netscape Navigator page containing spinning objects.
A Navigator bug prevents the same document from being displayed by two embedded commands on the same page. If you try to do this, the second instance of the document is not displayed.
When the user views a Designer file directly (by placing its URL in the browser's URL field), printing does not work.
When panning an animated object, QuickSilver animation is stopped. To restart the animation, reload the page.
