  4. INTRODUCTION
  5. Vinny Graphics is a novel graphing and data analysis program for
  6. science and engineering students. It is easy to use and accepts
  7. and exports data through a variety of sources.  The intuitive 
  8. Windows interface helps produce multi-parameter design or test
  9. data graphs and perform simple math operations on groups of cells.
  10. This zip package contains the complete 16 bit Vinny Graphics 
  11. application for Windows. If you wish to run Vinny Graphics
  12. on Windows 95 you may want to download the 32 bit Vinny Graphics
  13. application for Windows 95.  It provides increased speed and
  14. allows 21 rather than 12 data sets.

  16. INPUT
  17. Data input is by:
  18.         1-Cut, copy and paste from external spread sheets.
  19.         2-Loading ascii data files in decimal or exponential format.
  20.         3-Key board entry into a series of internal mini spread sheets.
  21.         4-Loading complete graph files.

  23. MATH AND REGRESSION
  24. Data analysis works on up to 21 independent data sets in Windows 
  25. 95 and up to 12 independent data sets in Windows 3.1x.  Each set
  26. can contain up to 10,000 X,Y pairs.  Results are seen graphically
  27. as changes are made.  Curve fits are 1st to 5th order polynomial,
  28. power,  exponential or log. Simple math operations can be performed
  29. on data in the selected group of cells or data in columns.

  31. GRAPHS
  32. Graphs allow total freedom in setting up scales and grids.  Log
  33. scales with up to 20 cycles for each axis are available.

  36. Output is by:
  37.         1-Cut, copy and paste to external spread sheets.
  38.         2-Saving complete graph files or individual data set files.
  39.         3-Saving sizable graph Bitmap files.
  40.         4-High resolution color graph printing.
  41.         5-Complete data set and regression coefficient printing.

  43. FILES IN THE ZIP PACKAGE
  44. This zip package contains the complete 16 bit Vinny Graphics 
  45. application for Windows. It will run on Windows 3.1x.  Three files
  46. are required to run the application.  They are vin16.exe, vin16.hlp
  47. and vin16.cfg.  Put them in the same directory. The demo files may
  48. also be located in this directory or else where. If you desire, the
  49. install.exe file can be run to automate the file transfer process 
  50. and to create a Vinny Graphics Program Group.

  52. ABOUT THE DEMOS
  53.         Logbar.gra demonstrates a 4X4 cycle log-log plot with a
  54.         combination of curve fits, bar and line graphs. This is a
  55.         complete graph and data file produced by Vinny Graphics.

  57.         Demo21.gra and Demo12.gra demonstrate the display of 21
  58.         and 12 data sets.  These are complete graph and data
  59.         files produced by Vinny Graphics.

  61.         DataDemo1.prn is normal X,Y two column data transfer file
  62.         produced by Vinny Graphics.  It represents one data set.
  63.  
  64.         DataDemo8.prn is an 8 column data file.  The program can
  65.         read but not produce files of this type.  The allowable
  66.         number of columns ranges from 1 to 13 for Windows 3.1x and
  67.         1 to 22 for Windows 95. The column lengths ranges from 1 to
  68.         10,000.  Column 1 is loaded as X values. Column 2 is loaded
  69.         as Y values of data set 1 and column 3 as Y values of data
  70.         set 2 etc.  Hint, to see DataDemo8 more clearly use the
  71.         SCALE dialog button FIND ALL after loading.  A complete
  72.         context sensitive help system is included in the program.

  74. MATH SAMPLE PROBLEMS
  75.         The file [math_p.txt] has two sample problems which 
  76.         illustrate the use of Vinny Graphics math operations.
  77.         The first problem is at the introductory level and the
  78.         second is at the advanced level.  The solution to these
  79.         problems are in [math_p1.gra] and [math_p2.gra].

  82.         Version 1.30 adds independent printer output color control
  83.         for each data set.
  84.         Version 1.40 adds independent math operations on data in
  85.         the selected group of cells.
  86.         Version 1.50 adds round off math operation.

  88.         Version 1.70 Adds decimal format to log scales.
