* IBM PC or compatible computer with a 386 or higher processor.

* Microsoft Windows 3.1x or Windows 95.

Note *1: Varies with projects.
Note *2: When a project runs on a PC without a sound card, the project still
runs with text and graphic showing, but does not play sound.
--------------------------------- TO INSTALL ---------------------------------
Run "setup.exe" from Windows and follow the instructions.
----------------------------------- TO RUN -----------------------------------
A "SLIM SHOW 2.1" icon will be created in the "Slim Show" program group by the
Setup program. Follow regular Windows procedures to run the program. It is
recommended that you run the included demo project if you are using the Slim
Show program for the first time.
-------------------------------- TO UNINSTALL --------------------------------
The setup program in SLIM SHOW can uninstall the SLIM SHOW from your system
for you. To insure all the components will be removed properly, please follow
these steps:
1. Make sure the SLIM SHOW program and the Dictionary Editor program are not
running.
2. Run the Uninstall program from the SLIM SHOW program group and follow the
instructions to complete the uninstallation.
Note: The uninstaller is not allowed to remove files created by you, such as
newly created projects or materials. If you have these files in the directory
where the SLIM SHOW program resides, the uninstaller will remove the other
files but leave the user-created files untouched.
---------------------------- PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS ------------------------------
* Interactive Multimedia Maker for Windows 3.1 or Windows 95.
* Eighteen built-in transition styles for graphics, together with the
combinations of blanking out and resizing. The transition speed can be set
dynamically. (Rev. 2.1 new feature) Other visual effects can be produced by
arranging scenes externally. Supports BMP, JPEG, and SBM (compressed bitmap)
graphic formats.
* Plays AVI movie.
* Various styles for showing text strings or text files.
* Plays MIDI and WAVE audio.
* Built-in text-to-speech synthesizer. Speaks any text. Pitch and speed
adjustable. Allows use of custom dictionaries.
* Text or graphical buttons for users interaction.
* Visual authoring environment allowing you to drag-and-drop nodes.
Properties of the last editing node in each object type are memorized
automatically for easy editing of new nodes.
* Basic editing tools - Copy, Paste, Delete, Undo and Undelete.
* Creates self-contained, standalone executable files with player built-in.
Data compression applies automatically. Fully automatic load and play
process. All files are cleaned up after the show. Tiny player footprint
(the multimedia engine only takes 55 KB space for non text-to-speech
projects, or 550 KB for projects with text-to-speech). Projects can be
built as self-extracting executable files; ideal for distributions in
E-mails or diskettes.
* Non-compressing mode allows the creation of the player and raw material
files. Projects made in this mode run directly without loading and
decompressing.
* Show window can adjust automatically to target video size or set to a fixed
resolution.
* Transporting of TrueType text fonts (TTF) within projects.
* Allows custom text showing on load up screen. (Rev. 2.1 new feature)
------------------------ NEW FEATURES IN REVISION 2.1 ------------------------
* Supports WAVE, MIDI, and AVI looping.
* Dynamically adjustable graphic transition and text marching speed.
* Improved load up screen with progress meter and custom title text.
* Options for making show window movable, selection of Button cursor type, and
to suspend preprocess of JPEG/SBM files during initialization.
