Upgrading from Symantec WinFax Starter Edition to WinFax Pro.
If you choose to upgrade to WinFax Pro, then you will need to run the wfupdate.exe utility. WinFax Pro looks for fax and voice phone numbers in the Outlook contacts fields Other Fax and Primary. These fields are normally empty, so from WinFax Pro when you view your contacts folder, you may not see any phone numbers. This utility will copy Business/Home Fax numbers to the Other Fax field and Business/Home phone numbers to the Primary field. If only one number in the Business/Home fields is used the number will automatically be copied. If both exist, you will be prompted to select which one to copy. If a number already exists in either Other Fax or Primary fields, then they will be left alone. When completed, you will be able to access contact phone numbers from WinFax Pro. Be sure that Outlook is shutdown while you run this utility.
