  7. IMPORTANT: If IntraBuilder is not currently installed on
  8. your system or if you choose to install the IntraBuilder
  9. Client/Server Trial Edition, the trial software will
  10. automatically expire 30 days from the date of installation.
  11. If you are using this installation to update any existing
  12. edition of IntraBuilder from version 1.0 to version 1.01a,
  13. the date limitation does not apply.

  15. IntraBuilder Server setup instructions are in the file
  16. SERVER.HLP (a Windows Help file). Other general last-minute
  17. application notes are in README.TXT. Both of these files are
  18. also stored in your IntraBuilder root directory.
  19.  
  20. NOTE: This update applies only to English-language versions
  21. of IntraBuilder.

  24. IMPORTANT TRIAL INSTALLATION INFORMATION
  25. ------------------------------------------------------------
  26.  
  27. * Close all Windows programs, including any Web servers and
  28.   IntraBuilder, before installing the Trial/Update.
  29.  
  30. * You should only install the Trial/Update version once.
  31.  
  32. * If you already own a copy of IntraBuilder, install the
  33.   Trial/Update into the same directory as your current
  34.   installation.
  35.  
  36. * If you have a dual-boot Windows 95 and Windows NT system
  37.   and have a current 1.0 version of IntraBuilder installed
  38.   under both operating systems, you must install the
  39.   Trial/Update version under both operating systems,
  40.   otherwise IntraBuilder will behave as an expired Trial
  41.   verion under the second OS.

  44. HOW THE TRIAL/UPDATE SETUP PROGRAM WORKS
  45. ------------------------------------------------------------
  46.  
  47. The Trial/Update Setup either updates your existing copy of
  48. IntraBuilder (if you have one) or installs a trial edition
  49. of IntraBuilder Client/Server.
  50.  
  51. Setup first determines whether or not IntraBuilder is
  52. currently installed on your system, and, if so, what edition
  53. of IntraBuilder you own. It then proceeds as follows:
  54.  
  55. * If IntraBuilder is not installed on your system, Setup
  56.   installs the Client/Server Trial edition.
  57.  
  58. * If Setup detects an installation of IntraBuilder
  59.   Client/Server, it lets you update to this latest release
  60.   of version 1.01a.
  61.  
  62. * If Setup detects an installation of IntraBuilder Standard
  63.   or Professional version 1.0, you can only update to
  64.   version 1.01a (of the same edition). If you want to
  65.   evaluate the IntraBuilder Client/Server edition, you must
  66.   uninstall your existing version of IntraBuilder, and then
  67.   rerun Setup to install the trial edition. When the trial
  68.   edition expires (or any time before the expiry), you can
  69.   uninstall the Client/Server Trial edition, install your
  70.   licensed 1.0 edition, then update it to version 1.01a
  71.   using the Trial/Update Setup program.
  72.  
  73. ------------------------------------------------------------
  74. AFTER INSTALLATION...
  75. ------------------------------------------------------------

  77. You may receive unpredictable results when running
  78. IntraBuilder if you have a faulty IDAPI.CFG file on your
  79. system at the time you install IntraBuilder. The problem
  80. only occurs with the IDAPI.CFG file that is installed with
  81. certain 16-bit Borland database products.
  82.  
  83. Details:
  84. If, after installation, you receive errors indicating a
  85. problem with Borland Database Engine (BDE) configuration,
  86. you must:
  87.  
  88. 1.  Uninstall IntraBuilder (see instructions in this file).
  89.  
  90. 2.  Locate and then rename the files IDAPI.CFG and
  91.     IDAPI32.CFG (suggestion: IDAPI.CFX and IDAPI32.CFX,
  92.     though you can use any name).
  93.  
  94. 3.  Reinstall IntraBuilder.
  95.  
  96. This sequence correctly constructs the required IDAPI32.CFG
  97. file for use with IntraBuilder.
  98.  
  99. Background:
  100. IDAPI.CFG, which is distributed with all 16-bit Borland
  101. applications, can contain spaces where it should contain
  102. nulls if the file was ever corrupted and then rebuilt by the
  103. Borland BDECFG.EXE. IntraBuilder merges IDAPI.CFG
  104. information into IDAPI32.CFG during installation. If the 16-
  105. bit IDAPI.CFG contains spaces where there should be nulls,
  106. the 32-bit merged file becomes corrupted. If IDAPI.CFG is
  107. renamed, however, IntraBuilder setup will not attempt to
  108. merge it with IDAPI32.CFG, and the installed IDAPI32.CFG
  109. will function correctly.

  112. OTHER INSTALLATION ISSUES
  113. ------------------------------------------------------------

  115. Client/Server, Professional, and Trial edition users only
  116. ---------------------------------------------------------
  117.  
  118. * For successful execution on any version of Windows NT with
  119.   Microsoft IIS server, your system login username must
  120.   match the Anonymous Connections username in your Internet
  121.   Service Manager setup. For more details on this
  122.   requirement and instructions on how to change the
  123.   Anonymous username, see the file SERVER.HLP in your
  124.   IntraBuilder root directory.

  127. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  128. ------------------------------------------------------------

  130. * An Intel 486DX PC or better.
  131. * Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT 3.51 or Windows NT 4.0.
  132. * A VGA/SVGA monitor and graphics adapter.
  133. * A TCP/IP Internet or intranet connection.
  134. * 30MB free space on your hard disk drive.
  135. * Memory requirements:
  136.   IntraBuilder Designer: 12MB RAM for Windows 95, 16MB RAM
  137.   for Windows NT.
  138.   IntraBuilder Server: Minimum IntraBuilder Designer
  139.   requirement plus 8MB for the Borland Web Server, or the
  140.   stated memory requirement of another supported Web
  141.   server.
  142. * IntraBuilder Client/Server has a "Remote Agents" feature
  143.   which requires Windows NT.
  144.

  146. UNINSTALLING INTRABUILDER
  147. ------------------------------------------------------------
  148.  
  149. * Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0: Use the Add/Remove Programs
  150.   applet in Control Panel.
  151.  
  152. * Windows NT 3.51: Click the Uninstall icon in your
  153.   IntraBuilder program group in Program Manager.
  154.  
  155. * CAUTION: If you configure FastTrack for Windows 95 using
  156.   the instructions in SERVER.HLP and later choose to remove
  157.   IntraBuilder, you must also remove the IntraBuilder items
  158.   from the FastTrack configuration files. If you don't, you
  159.   may experience problems running FastTrack. This caution
  160.   does not apply to FastTrack Server 2.0 for NT or
  161.   Enterprise Server 2.0.
