  5.   =====================  Evaluation version of Dr Solomon's FindVirus v7.69

  8. This version of Dr Solomon's FindVirus is designed to run on IBM PC
  9. compatible computers.  Remember that FindVirus is just one part of Dr
  10. Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit.
  11.  
  12. The full commercial Toolkit includes many other facilities including a user 
  13. interface, TSR, VxD, Virus Encyclopedia etc as well as versions specific for 
  14. DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows NT, OS/2, Novell NetWare, Unix and 
  15. Apple Macintosh.  Read TOOLKIT.TXT for more information on this.

  17. If you suspect you may have a virus we strongly recommend that you 
  18. cold-boot (not Ctrl-Alt-Del) from a clean (virus-free), write-protected      
  19. floppy disk and run FindVirus from a write-protected floppy.  This ensures
  20. that the virus will not be in memory while you are scanning or attempting
  21. to repair the infection.  If FindVirus detects a virus in memory it will
  22. warn you with a suitable message.

  25. FINDVIRUS SYNTAX

  28. Users of 8086/286 machines will be unable to use the /ANALYZE and
  29. /UNZIP options, as they are only available on 386 PCs and better.

  34.            FINDVIRU [switches]

  39.  
  40.            /386 ................. Force use of 386 version of FindVirus 
  41.                                   (which supports the unzipping and 
  42.                                   heuristic analysis command-line 
  43.                                   options).  FindVirus should 
  44.                                   automatically detect if you have a 386,
  45.                                   but if you experience problems try this
  46.                                   switch.
  47.            /ALLDRIVES or /AD..... Check all fixed disk drives,
  48.                                   including network drives.
  49.            /ANALYZE or /ANALYSE   
  50.                     or /AN....... Use Advanced Heuristic Analysis
  51.                                   to detect new and unknown viruses.
  52.            /DOALLFILES .......... Check all files, not just
  53.                                   executables.
  54.            /EXTRA=file .......... Use specified additional virus
  55.                                   driver file.
  56.            /HELP or /? .......... Display command-line syntax.
  57.            /LOCAL ............... Check local hard drives.
  58.            /LOUD ................ Display verbose output.
  59.            /NOPACK .............. Do not scan internally files
  60.                                   compressed with PKLite, LZExe,
  61.                                   ICE, CryptCom, Microsoft Expand
  62.                                   and Diet (default).
  63.            /PACK ................ Scan internally files compressed
  64.                                   with PKLite, LZExe, ICE, CryptCom,
  65.                                   Microsoft Expand and Diet.
  66.            /PRINTOUT ............ Output report to printer as well
  67.                                   as to screen.
  68.            /REPAIR [/DELETE] .... Repair infected files.  The optional
  69.                                   /DELETE switch deletes files that
  70.                                   cannot be repaired.
  71.            /REPORT=file ......... Output report to specified file.
  72.            /UNZIP ............... Scan recursively files compressed
  73.                                   with PKZIP, ARJ, ARC, LZH, PKLite,
  74.                                   LZExe, ICE, CryptCom, Microsoft
  75.                                   Expand and Diet.  If you use this
  76.                                   switch it is not necessary to use
  77.                                   the /PACK option.
  78.            /YESBREAK ............ Allow FindVirus to be interrupted
  79.                                   during scan with Ctrl-Break.

  82.  There are a lot more switches available in the regular version of
  83.  Dr Solomon's FindVirus included in the full commercial version of
  84.  Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit.

  90.   Scans the C: drive for known viruses

  92. FINDVIRU C: /UNZIP
  93.   Scans the C: drive for known viruses, including inside compressed 
  94.   and archived files.

  97.   Scans the C: and D: drives for both known *and* unknown viruses.

  99. FINDVIRU /LOCAL /REPAIR
  100.   Scans all local fixed drives for known viruses.  If any are found 
  101.   FindVirus will attempt to clean-up the infection.

  103. FINDVIRU A: /REPORT=C:\REPORT.TXT
  104.   Scans the A: drive for known viruses, writing a report to REPORT.TXT in
  105.   the root directory of the C: drive
