  70. The Isle of Four Winds: Rune War
  71.   An inventive mix of traditional 13-tile MahJong, spell casting, and 
  72. strategic land combat.  For Windows95/NT4.0 or better.

  74. directory.  As well, extensive stories of the Isle, its history, and 
  75. its main figures are documented.

  79. Run setup.exe.
  80. Once installed, you can run the game from your Start Menu,
  81. using the Rune War Demo Folder icon.
  82. You may uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs icon on the
  83. Windows Control Panel.

  94. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  95.  
  96. The information below should solve many of your problems installing
  97. or running The Isle of Four Winds: Rune War, Beta Demo
  98.  
  99. Question:  Rune War refuses to install!
  100. Answer: First, make sure you have 20 megabytes of free space on the
  101. drive you're trying to install to.  Also, you must have WinZip, or 
  102. some other .zip extraction program.
  103.  
  104. Question:  When I try to run runewar.exe, I get the message "Direct
  105. Draw Init Failed"
  106. Answer: 1: Rune War requires Direct X 3.0 or better to run. This can
  107. be obtained from "http://www.shareware.com", and type in "DirectX 3"
  108. in the search box.  This will lead you to a list of sites from which
  109. you can download it.
  110. 2: Your monitor and/or video card cannot support the 1024x768 
  111. screen resolution with 256 colours required for Rune War.  If you 
  112. monitor is not capable of this resolution, the game will not run.
  113. Updated drivers can be obtained from your video card manufacturer
  114. if the monitor does support this resolution.
  115.  
  116. Question: When I try to run Rune War, I get a message "dplayx.dll
  117. missing (file not found)".
  118. Answer: Rune War requires Direct X 3.0 or better to run.  This can
  119. be obtained from "http://www.shareware.com", and type in "DirectX 3"
  120. in the search box.  This will lead you to a list of sites from which
  121. you can download it.

  123. Question:  The timer is too fast (or too slow).
  124. Answer: From the main menu, select the CHANGE TIMER option.  Left-click
  125. twice on the timer setting you wish to use.
  126. (Note: to speed up play, press SPACE to pass on a tile)

  128. For questions concerning gameplay, consult the manual.txt
  129. document.  It takes a while to learn to play MahJong and the Rune 
  130. War game well, but the game gets better and better the more you 
  131. play it.
