  7. OVERVIEW
  8.  
  9.   K-Chess Elite is a powerful and versatile chess program designed
  10.   to help you play better. It is ideal for casual players, children
  11.   learning to play chess, and anyone wanting to improve their game.

  13.   K-Chess Elite has lots of features to help you play. See the
  14.   pieces that have been taken, where pieces can move, who can take
  15.   what, which move the computer recommends, whether checkmate is
  16.   inevitable, and more. Set the board to a specific layout, rotate
  17.   it, enlarge it, change the set of pieces, and even add your own
  18.   comments to a game.

  20.   Unlimited undo and redo is available, plus move hinting and
  21.   replay, giving you complete control of the game and allowing
  22.   alternate strategies to be explored. Print board layouts and move
  23.   lists. Save games to disk and reload at any time.

  25.   K-Chess Elite can play with two players, one player against the
  26.   computer (either black or white), or the computer against itself.
  27.   Choose from a variety of time restrictions, or none at all. Change
  28.   the playing strength to suit yourself. There are dozens of options
  29.   to customise the appearance and operation of the game.

  32.   bar, and extensive help. And it plays a good game of chess too!

  79. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  81.   K-Chess Elite comes with both 16 bit and 32 bit versions in the
  82.   one package.

  84.   K-Chess Elite 16 requires a PC with 386 or higher processor, 2MB
  85.   memory, 1MB free disk space, VGA graphics, and running Windows 3.1
  86.   or higher or OS/2 Warp 3.0 or higher with Windows.

  88.   K-Chess Elite 32 requires a PC with 386 or higher processor, 4MB
  89.   memory, 1.5MB free disk space, VGA graphics, and running Windows
  90.   95 or higher or Windows NT.

  92.   Both programs require graphics resolution of at least 600 x 480 in
  93.   16 colours. The textured backgrounds look best in 256 colours or
  94.   higher.

  96.   A sound card is required for sound effects.

  101. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  102.  
  103.   K-Chess Elite must be installed onto a hard disk with at least 1MB
  104.   of free space (1.5MB under Windows 95 or Windows NT).

  106.   1. Put the Installation Disk in drive A:.
  107.  
  108.   2. Select the Run function from the File menu in Program Manager
  109.   (in Windows 3.1) or the Start button (in Windows 95).

  111.   3. Enter "a:setup".
  112.  
  113.   4. Press Enter to begin installation. When requested, enter the
  114.   drive and/or directory to install the program to, or just press
  115.   <Enter> to accept the default.

  117.   K-Chess Elite is supplied on high density 1.44MB 3.5" diskettes.
  118.   5.25" diskettes are available at additional cost.

  120.   Note: K-Chess Elite is installed by K-Install for Windows, also
  121.   available as a separate product from ARK ANGLES. K-Install has an
  122.   extensive range of powerful features for software developers and
  123.   publishers, and is very easy to set up. See the ARK ANGLES
