  89. Definitions.
  90. ~~~~~~~~~~~
  91. 'Software' or 'Program' means the ChaoSoft software product Folder Guard,
  92. including both the software and the associated documentation and other
  93. materials;

  95. 'Evaluation Copy' means a copy of the Program you obtained from us or
  96. other source for evaluation purposes and which is described as
  97. "Unregistered" in the 'About' screen. An Evaluation Copy may be converted
  98. to the Licensed Copy by supplying a name of a registered user or
  99. institution and a correct Registration Code, which may be obtained from
  100. ChaoSoft or its authorized dealer(s).
  101.  
  102. 'Licensed Copy' means a copy of the Program registered with ChaoSoft or
  103. with its authorized dealer, and which is described as "Registered to:
  104. <user name>" in the 'About' screen. A Licensed Copy converts itself into
  105. an Evaluation Copy when it is copied to another disk or computer, or when
  106. the registration information is erased.
  107.  
  108. 'Registration Package' means all the materials you are obtaining from us
  109. or our authorized dealer after sending us your registration fee. In
  110. particular, Registration Package contains your personal Registration
  111. Code, allowing you to remove the registration reminder message and put
  112. your name in the 'About' screen.

  114. 'we' or 'us' means ChaoSoft, a company produced this software
  115.  
  116. and
  117.  
  118. 'you' means the end user or distributor of the Software.

  120. Legal Agreement.

  122. This is a legal agreement between you and ChaoSoft. By using or

  135. ChaoSoft and is protected by United States copyright laws and
  136. international treaty provisions. Therefore, you must treat the Software

  139. is granted to you. You may not copy any written or printed materials
  140. from your Registration Package and you may not rent or lease a Licensed

  143. TRIAL USE LICENSE

  145. ChaoSoft grants to you a limited license to use an Evaluation Copy of
  146. this software for evaluation purposes for a period not to exceed 14 days.

  148. This period may be not a contiguous sequence of days. However, you should
  149. count a day as an evaluation day if you used the Program during that day
  150. at least once. The purpose of this evaluation period is to allow you to
  151. determine whether the program meets your needs before purchasing it.

  153. Once the evaluation period has ended, you MUST either purchase a license
  154. for continued use of the program, or stop using it.  Use of an Evaluation
  155. Copy beyond the end of the evaluation period without registering it is in

  159. Evaluation Copy beyond the end of the evaluation period until your

  162. Obtaining a license for continued use of the Program.

  166. your name, address, and correct amount of registration fee to our

  169. containing the Registration Code assigned to you, you may use that code
  170. to convert your Evaluation Copy of the Software into the Licensed one.

  172. You agree to keep the Registration Code for your own use only and
  173. not share it with anybody else.

  175. LICENSED COPY USE LICENSE

  177. ChaoSoft grants to you the right to use a Licensed Copy of the software,
  178. if you have registered (purchased a license for continued use) it with us
  179. or with our authorized dealer.

  181. You may not network a Licensed Copy or otherwise use it on more than one
  182. computer or computer terminal at the same time unless you have purchased
  183. a site license.
  184.  
  185. If the Licensed Copy you are using is registered to some other name, you
  186. MUST either unregister it by removing the registration information, or
  187. stop using it. Use of a Licensed Copy, registered to anybody else except
  188. you (or, for site license arrangements, to your organization), is in
  189. violation of federal copyright laws.

  191. Multi-User and Network Use.

  193. If you have registered the Software for use by multiple users,  you agree
  194. not to use the Program on more computers than the number specified in
  195. your site license. You may install the Program on computers attached to a
  196. network, or remove it from one computer and install it on a different
  197. one, provided there is NO POSSIBILITY that your copy will be installed or
  198. used on more computers than it is licensed for.  If you have a network,
  199. you don't need to include every computer attached to the network in your
  200. license, but you must include every computer on which the Program is
  201. installed or used, regardless of whether the user of the computer happens
  202. to know that the Program is in use on their system.  If you have single
  203. computers which allow multiple users to use the Program simultaneously,
  204. you must count each keyboard or terminal separately when determining how
  205. many computers are using the Program.

  207. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE

  264. time up to 30 days after purchase and we will give you a refund. Refunds
  265. will be based on the price you paid, with shipping costs excluded.  You
  266. must contact us before returning any product for a refund. This
  267. satisfaction guarantee does not apply to multi-system licenses for more
  268. than 10 computers, or to purchases of more than 10 individual copies at a
  269. time.

  271. Physical Defects.  We pledge that the disks, if any, and any printed
  272. material we send you will arrive free of physical defects which interfere
  273. with normal use. If you find such a defect and report it to us within 30
  274. days after you get your Registered Package, we agree to replace the
  275. defective item(s) at no charge to you as long as the defect was not
  276. caused by misuse or abuse.

  278. Bugs and Program Errors.  We don't promise that the Software will be free
  279. of bugs or program errors, and you agree that bugs or program errors will
  280. not be considered as "physical defects" in the program. We agree that if
  281. you report a program error or bug to us, we will use our best efforts to
