[1. Installing Print Screen Deluxe]
***** INSTALLATION SUGGESTION ****
We suggest that you add Print Screen Deluxe to your 'Startup'
group. This way the <PrintScreen> key will always work everytime
Windows runs. This saves you from having to locate Print Screen
Deluxe, and run it every time you start Windows.
If you would like Print Screen Deluxe to start as an icon, just
edit the "properties" of the icon. To do this, single click on the
Print Screen Deluxe icon, click on 'File', then 'Properties',
check the 'Run Minimized' box, then press <OK>. From now on, any time
you click on this Print Screen Deluxe icon, it will start up
minimized.

To install Print Screen Deluxe 3.0 run the INSTALL.EXE from
Program Manager. Click on 'File' then 'Run' and type the drive,
directory and INSTALL to run the installation.
For example, if you have the Print Screen Deluxe files on a
floppy disk, place the disk in drive A: or B:. If you place the
disk in drive A:, type "A:INSTALL". If your place the disk in
drive B:, type "B:INSTALL". If you have the Print Screen
Deluxe files on your hard disk, type the drive letter, then
the directory, and INSTALL (i.e. "C:\MYDIR\INSTALL").
You will be presented with the directory that Print Screen
Deluxe will be copied to.
Pressing 'Install', will install Print Screen Deluxe
into the specified directory.

[2. How to use Print Screen Deluxe]
- TO PRINT THE ENTIRE SCREEN to your printer, press the <PrintScreen> key.
- TO PRINT THE CURRENT WINDOW to your printer, hold the <Alt> key down and
press the <PrintScreen> key.
[File Menu]
Open
Open a previously saved screen print in a BMP, JPG, PCX, or PNG file. Just
type the name of the file you want to open and press <OK>, or double click
the desired file name to open the file. To change the file type, click
the 'Files of type' list and select the new type.
These files can be read in by many Windows programs. If you are writing a
document or presenation that you would like to import screen prints into,
you will want to save them to a file.
The program will remember the directory you read your last file from and
save the future screen prints there.
Note: You may also drag files into the Print Screen Deluxe window to open
them.
Save As...
Save the screen print to a file. Just type the name of the file you want
to save the screen print as and press <OK>, or double click the desired
file name. To change the file type, click the 'Files of type' list and
select the new type.
These files can be read in by many Windows programs. If you are writing
a document or presenation that you would like to import screen prints
into, you will want to save them to a file.
The program will remember the directory you read your last file from and
save the future screen prints there.
Print
Prints the displayed screen to the printer
Printer Setup
Displays the list of printers and printer drivers you have installed on
your PC. Select any printer and driver and press OK to print your screen
prints to.
Send
Attach the captured image to an email. Once the image is attached to the
email, the email will be displayed. You can then enter your regular email text and data and send your email. The Send Mail output option is only supported if you have a MAPI mail client installed (for example, Microsoft Exchange).
Exit
Exits Print Screen Deluxe
[Edit Menu]
Undo
Undo the last change to the image. Revert back to the previous image.
You can undo your changes back to the last time you saved or loaded the
file, or pasted, cleared or captured an image.
Clear
Clear the contents of the Print Screen Deluxe window.
Crop
Specify a rectangle to keep and delete the contents outside the rectangle.
When you click this option, notice that a dotted rectangle appears around
the image. Drag the edges of the image and surround the area of the image
that you want to keep. Then click the 'Crop' command again to delete the
area outside the dotted rectangle.
Copy
Copies the image in the Print Screen Deluxe window to the clipboard.
Paste
Paste the image on the clipboard into the Print Screen Deluxe window.
[Effects Menu]
Sharpen
Sharpens the colors of the image. A window will appear allowing you to
control how much you would like to adjust the image.
Bleed
Bleeds colors into the image. A window will appear allowing you to control
how much you would like to adjust the image.
Bright/Dark
Adjust the brightness of the image. A window will appear allowing you to
control how much you would like to adjust the image.
Rotate
A window will appear asking you to specify the number of degrees to rotate
the image. Anywhere from 0 to 360.
Gamma Correction
Apply a general Gamma Correction to enhance the image colors. A window will
appear allowing you to control how much you would like to adjust the image.
Mirror -> Horizontal
Flips the image horizontally
Mirror -> Vertical
Flips the image Vertically
Mirror -> Both
Flips the image horizontally and vertically
Invert
Inverts or 'Reverses' the colors of the image, similar to the negative of
the photograph.
Gray Scale
Converts all the collors colors of the image into shades of gray.
[Options Menu]
Auto Print
Automatically prints the screen to the printer when the screen capture hot
key (default is <PrintScreen>) is pressed. If this option is not selected,
then you must click on Print in the File menu. This option will be restored
if selected when the program restarts as long as Save Settings on Exit is
selected.
Auto Save
Automaticaly saves the screen print to a .BMP file when the screen capture
hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) is pressed. The program will generate a
file name like PS000010.BMP. The first file name generated is PS000000.BMP. The file name of each screen print that you want automatically saved after that will be incremented by one, for example, PS000001.BMP, then PS000002.BMP...
These .BMP files can be read in by many Windows programs. If you are
writing a document or presenation that you would like to import screen
prints into, you will want to save them to .BMP files.
This feature is very handy if you are documenting a program or system.
You can move through the program you are documenting, screen by screen,
pressing the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>), saving
them to .BMP files.
Auto Invert
Automatically performs the 'Effects'..'Invert' command on the image when
it is captured. Inverts or 'Reverses' the colors of the image, similar
to the negative of the photograph.
Auto Gray Scale
Converts all the collors colors of the image into shades of gray when
the image is captured.
Auto Start
Configures Print Screen Deluxe to start when Windows starts. (Only
available in the 32 bit version of Print Screen Deluxe).
Stretch to fit Window
Stretches/Squeezes the displayed screen into the size of the Program's
Window. This option will be restored if selected when the program restarts
as long as Save Settings on Exit is Selected.
Print Date/Time
When checked on the program will print the date and time the printout is
printed below the screen print.
Print Page Header
When checked on the program will print the file name at the top of the
page.
Capture Text
When checked, Print Screen Deluxe will capture all text that passes
through the clipboard and captures it as an image. This is very handy if
you wish to capture full screen DOS sessions. It is only availble if you
have 'Capture'..'Clipboard' selected.
Short Icon Title
The program will use an abbreviated program title when iconized. This will
save you screen real estate.
Fast Printing
Use a method of printing that sends your screen print the printer faster
than normal. You sacrifice a little print quality, but the screen print
will be sent to the printer faster. The original version of Print Screen
Deluxe used the slower method of printing to ensure the highest quality
printout. This feature allows you to control how fast you need your
screen print to print out.
Capture -> Entire Window
When you press the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) the
currently active window is captured in the Print Screen Deluxe window.

Capture -> Full Screen
When you press the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) the
entire screen is captured in the Print Screen Deluxe window. For more

Capture -> Rope
When you press the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) the
you can rope off an area of the screen to capture. Use the mouse (shaped
liked cross-hairs) to rope ff the are you want to capture. The selected
area is captured in the Print Screen Deluxe window. For more information

Capture -> Clipboard
Anytime a bitmap passes through the clipboard it is captured in the Print
Screen Deluxe window. So, anytime you copy or cut in bitmap in another
program such as Paintbrush, a copy of it will appear in Print Screen Deluxe. And any 'Auto' options you have set such as Auto Print will be executed. For more information see Capture a screen or capture a portion of the screen or window
Capture -> Window Client Area
When you press the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) the
mouse cursor changes to a hand. Point to the window that you want to
capture, and the client area of that windows will be captured in the Print
Screen Deluxe window. For more information see Capture a screen or

Time Delay
Allows you to specify a time delay that will occur before the screen is
captured. For example, if you have a time delay set to 3 seconds and
you hit the screen capture hot key (default is <PrintScreen>) 3 seconds
will pass before the screen capture starts. This will allow you to get
your screen just right before capturing starts.
Print Scale
Allows you to scale the size of the image when you print it. Between 0
and 100%.
Hot Key
Allows you to select the hot key that will initiate the screen capture.
If you do not wish to use the <PrintScreen> key to capture a screen,
select this option and follow the on screen instructions. (Only available
in the 32 bit version of Print Screen Deluxe).
Save Settings on Exit
Saves the state of the Options when the program exits. The Options will
be restored when Print Screen Deluxe is started again. This option will
be restored if selected when the program restarts as long as 'Save Settings
on Exit' is selected.
Command Line Options

Run Print Screen as a hidden application. You will not see a Window or an
icon on the desktop when the program is running. 'AutoPrint' is the only
option activated. Therefore whenever you press the screen capture hot key
(default is <PrintScreen>) your screen or window will automatically print
to your printer.
[3. Product Support]
American Systems provides user support to registered
versions via mail, and/or telephone. American Systems will
answer questions and resolve serious bugs for the first
three months after registration. For problems involving a
specific hardware or software environment or feature, we
may choose not to modify the program. In that case, if a
problem is reported within three months after purchase,
then we shall offer to refund the user's purchase price.
If a bug prevents you from evaluating Print Screen for
Windows during the first 30 days (prior to purchase),
American Systems will attempt to assist but is not under
obligation to resolve issues beyond our control.
