  1. Q: I connect to the site, but don't see any files or directories listed
  2. A: Go to Site Manager, bring up editing screen for the site entry, 
  3.    disable "Resolve Links" option. Save and try again. If that doesn't 
  4.    work, contact the author.

  7. Q: I get a General Protection Fault when CuteFTP tries to load directory
  8.    listing.
  9.    I get "Can't establish data socket" error.
  10. A: Go to Options dialog, select Firewall section. Set "Firewall Type" to
  11.    "PASV Mode" and put a check in "Enable Firewall" box.

  14. Q: How can I select multiple files for upload/download?
  15. A: Hold down CTRL or SHIFT keys while clicking on file or directory entries.

  18. Q: CuteFTP 32bit under Windows95 or Windows NT produces 
  19.    "Cannot resolve host name" error for any site.
  20. A: You need a 32bit Winsock (e.g. Remote Access under NT, or 
  21.    Dial-up networking under Win95). Most third-party Winsock
  22.    products, including Trumpet, are 16bit.

  25. Q: I can't configure CuteFTP to go through my firewall.
  26. A: Ask you system administrator for these details:
  27.      * Does you firewall support FTP Proxy protocol? If not, you can't
  28.        use CuteFTP with your firewall.
  29.      * What is the host name or IP address of your Firewall host?
  30.      * What is the port for FTP Proxy server?
  31.      * Is username and/or password needed to connect to your firewall?
  32.    Start CuteFTP and go to Options dialog (FTP->Options). Fill out
  33.    "Firewall Host" and "Firewall Port" fields (also fill out Username 
  34.    and Password fields, if aplicable).
  35.    Put a check in "Enable Firewall" check-box.
  36.    Set Firewall type to "USER user@site".
  37.    Press Ok and try to connect to some well-known site.
  38.    If it doesn't work, go back to Firewall Setup and try each remaining
  39.    Firewall Type setting.

  41. Q: How do I get WSArchie to work with CuteFTP?
  42. A: In FTP Setup (in WSArchie) put the following text in:
  43.      c:\cuteftp\cuteftp.exe host=%h anonym remote=%d get=%f
  44.    Substitute "c:\cuteftp\cuteftp.exe" with the actual location of
  45.    CuteFTP executable file.
