  9. ABOUT THIS MENU
  10. The Software Device Drivers screen lists each available software
  11. device driver and the hardware devices that the device driver
  12. supports.  An asterisk indicates that the device driver is
  13. selected.
  14.  
  15. From this screen you can:
  16.    --- View the device drivers that are available on the system
  17.    --- Obtain extended information listing the valid values for
  18.        each hardware parameter
  19.    --- Select or unselect a device driver
  20.    --- For each selected device driver, specify a new hardware
  21.        device that uses the device driver

  23. EXTENDED DEVICE DRIVER INFORMATION
  24. Press <F6> to obtain the following additional information:
  25.    --- The hardware driver name
  26.    --- The hardware device name
  27.    --- Valid values for the unit number
  28.    --- Valid values for the IPL
  29.    --- Valid values for the ITYPE
  30.    --- Valid values for the IRQ
  31.    --- Valid values for the I/O address range
  32.    --- Valid values for the memory address range
  33.    --- Valid values for the DMA channel
  34.    --- Valid values for the Bind CPU
  35.    --- The board ID
  36.    --- The board bus type
  37. Press <Enter> to return to the Software Device Drivers screen.

  39. SELECTING A DEVICE DRIVER
  40. Before you can configure a new hardware device, the device
  41. driver that supports this hardware device must be selected.
  42. Do the following to select a device driver:
  43.     1.  Use the <Tab> or up/down arrow keys to move the cursor
  44.         next to the device driver name.
  45.     2.  Press <F2> to select or unselect the device driver.
  46.  
  47. NOTE:  If you unselect a device driver, all the hardware
  48.        devices supported by this device driver are disabled.

  50. ADDING A NEW HARDWARE DEVICE 
  51. Do the following to add a new hardware device for a given
  52. device driver:
  53.     1.  Use the <Tab> or up/down arrow keys to move the
  54.         cursor next to the device driver name.
  55.     2.  Press <F5>.  The New Hardware Configuration screen
  56.         is displayed.  Help on adding a new hardware device
  57.         is available from the New Hardware Configuration
  58.         screen by pressing <F1>.

  61. Press <Esc> to return to the Software Device Drivers screen.
