  8.       The RAR archiver is shareware. This means:
  9.  
  10.    1. All copyrights to RAR are exclusively owned by the author
  11.       - Eugene Roshal.
  12.  
  13.    2. Anyone may use this software during a test period of 40
  14.       days. Following this test period of 40 days or less, if
  15.       you wish to continue to use RAR, you MUST register.
  16.  
  17.    3. Once registered, the user is granted a non-exclusive license to 
  18.       use RAR on one computer (i.e. a single cpu), for any legal purpose, 
  19.       at a time.  The registered RAR software may not be rented or 
  20.       leased, but may be permanently transferred, if the person receiving 
  21.       it agrees to terms of this license.  If the software is an update, 
  22.       the transfer must include the update and all previous versions.

  24.    4. The RAR unregistered shareware version, may be freely distributed,
  25.       provided the distribution package is not modified. No person or 
  26.       company may charge a fee for the distribution of RAR without 
  27.       written permission from the copyright holder.

  29.    5. To register you must complete the registration form and send
  30.       it, with registration fee, to one of the authorized
  31.       registration sites, see RAR_SITE.TXT.

  33.    6. RAR ARCHIVER IS DISTRIBUTED "AS IS".  NO WARRANTY OF ANY
  34.       KIND IS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  YOU USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

  40.       registration, associated with the creation and distribution of RAR 
  41.       archives, volumes, self-extracting archives or self-extracting 
  42.       volumes.  Legally registered owners may use their copies of RAR to 
  43.       produce archives and self-extracting archives and to distribute 
  44.       those archives free of any additional RAR royalties.

  46.    8. You may not use, copy, emulate, clone, rent, lease, sell, modify,
  47.       decompile, disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the
  48.       licensed program, or any subset of the licensed program, except as 
  49.       provided for in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall 
  50.       result in immediate and automatic termination of this license and
  51.       may result in criminal and/or civil prosecution.

  78.    1. Because, as registered user, you:

  80.    1) Encourage the author to further develop and improve RAR,
  81.       making possible new RAR releases;

  83.    2) May use RAR in commercial and other environments;

  85.    3) Gain access to the Authenticity Verification and other advanced 
  86.       features;

  88.    4) Access support and assistance, via E-mail and RAR Support
  89.       Sites, worldwide;

  91.    5) Gain the right to use ALL future RAR releases, on the same OS
  92.       platform, in the registered mode. When a major version number
  93.       is changed, it may be deemed necessary, due to the activities
  94.       of hackers, to change the registration method. If this happens,
  95.       an upgrade diskette will be available from your local registration
  96.       site for a small charge to cover postage and handling.

  102.    If you wish to become a registered RAR user, all you need do is make a
  103.    payment to the author, via one of the local registration sites listed
  104.    in the registration form. Many registration sites will accept credit
  105.    cards, all will accept cash or cashier's cheque.

  116.    Upon receipt of your registration fee with the completed registration
  117.    form you will receive a registration key which will correspond to the
  118.    registration string given in the registration form.

  120.    Upon receipt of your registration key you should start RAR, press F9
  121.    and select the menu item <Registration>, then enter your name
  122.    (registration string) and the key when requested. This will activate
  123.    the registered features of RAR.

  125.    The diskette supplied to you with your key will also contain the
  126.    latest version of RAR along with, where applicable, local language 
  127.    documentation. Other software may also be included, at the discretion 
  128.    of the local registration site.

  130.    It is possible, depending upon the facilities available at your local
  131.    registration site, to have the key delivered to your computer system,
  132.    to have it made available for pickup by you or to have it delivered
  133.    by your local postal service.
