Our network version of the Millennium Bug Toolkit has been well received
by the Corporate market. For large Corporates we are happy to tailor our
products to their needs. We have stand-alone and network versions all can be
configured and customised to suit. The network Version works across a LAN or
WAN, and also enables the creation of floppies for non-networked PCs.
Most Corporates know what software they will allow their employees to use.
For example, Commercial Union are providing us with their list of software
packages, and the software scanner on their network version will check for
those products, and advise them if others are found. This will help them to
concentrate their attentions in the appropriate areas.
Some Corporates consider that compliance at BIOS level is acceptable in view
of the software they use. However they insist on the thoroughness of our
tests to check, for example, power down situations. We are advising
Corporates that they should consider powering-down their PCs on the
roll-over. It follows that they must carry out true power-down tests,
otherwise the first time they switch those PCs on in 2000 will be the first
time they have tested that situation. For example ING bank in Holland is
considering running our definitive tests on all machines, old and new.
Some Corporates prefer the piece-meal approach which our stand-alone
versions can offer. For example, one branch of SmithKline Beecham is
using single floppy disks on their machines for ease of implementation.
