  62. MODEMSTA <ASP>: Modem status iconic indicator for Windows using 3D
  63. animated icon. Version 1.9.

  65. If You have an internal modem, an external modem out-of-sight of Your
  66. computer or a PCMCIA modem, this is the program for You!
  67.  
  68. ModemSta, the MODEM STATUS ICONIC INDICATOR, will help You operating
  69. Your modemby showing a small animated icon replica or indicator display
  70. window (several formats available) of a typical modem's front panel.

  72. A number of handy functions has also been added such as modem
  73. initialization, logging of incoming calls and connections, additional
  74. status info, summary ofall communications settings in DOS and Windows,
  75. generation of sound in parallel to or instead of the telephone's ring
  76. signal and at line connection events. The status and activity of the
  77. parallel ports in Your system can also be monitored.

  140. ===== Installation =====================================

  142. INSTALLATION:
  143.  
  144. ModemSta files are installed using the Windows-hosted installation
  145. program. ModemSta requires Windows 3.1 or higher.
  146.  
  147. If you received ModemSta as an archived (.ZIP) file, unarchive it into a
  148. temporary directory. From Windows, run SETUP.EXE to perform the
  149. installation.
  150.  
  151. If you received ModemSta on a diskette, simply run SETUP.EXE located on
  152. the diskette from within Windows.
  153.  
  154. SETUP.EXE will copy ModemSta's files to a directory of Your choice. No
  155. changes are made to win.ini, system.ini, autoexec.bat etc.
  156.  
  157. SETUP.EXE will also copy CTL3D.DLL to the Windows system directory (e.g.
  158. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM), but will not overwrite a newer version.

  160. A Program Manager Group will also be created if You select so.

  162. You can also manually install the files by copying them to a directory
  163. and create icons in the Program Manager. Also copy CTL3D.DLL to the
  164. Windows system directory, but do not overwrite a newer version if one is
  165. already installed.
