Tardis 95 V3.0 Release Notes
March 96
What does it do?
Tardis is a Windows 95 program that corrects your PCÆs clock. It is
used where your PC is connected to a remote machine by TCP/IP, SLIP, or PPP. A
typical use would be to synchronise the clock on starting a SLIP/PPP connection to an
Internet provider (like demon). Another would be to have it running all the time in a
LAN environment correcting the clock once an hour.
NEW for version 3.0
Tardis now provides time servers as well as time clients!
The interface has been re engineered to use new windows 95 controls.
An estimate of how fast or slow your clock is and the last time the clock
was set is now shown.
Tardis has tooltips too.
Tardis can now automatically switch to a different server if errors occur.
It is now built with MFC statically linked so it is a bit bigger than before
but it should cause fewer problems.
Installation
You should have already unpacked the .zip file to have read this so I assume that bit
went OK.
Right click on the tardis95.inf file and select install.
When the install asks for a disk hit OK and use browse to move to the folder
where you unpacked the zip. Hit OK and tardis will install.
That's all!.
Tardis is installed in the "\Program Files\Tardis95" folder. It also appears in
the accessories group.
Deinstallation
Use the "Add/Remove programs" option in the control panel to remove it.
ThatÆs about it really. I hope it does something simple simply.
