  8. 1. As with any software product installation, you should close ALL other
  9.    applications prior to running Setup.
  10.  
  11. 2. If you experience difficulty with the installation and you do not use the
  12.    standard Windows desktop/Program Manager we suggest that you disable your
  13.    third-party desktop manager before attempting the installation again.

  16. Windows 95
  17. ----------

  19. 1. CreataCard Internet Edition was designed as a full screen product.  The
  20.    Windows 95 taskbar will not be visible while running CreataCard Internet
  21.    Edition.  It can be accessed by pressing Ctrl-Esc.

  23. 2. CreataCard Internet Edition will not automatically adjust to video
  24.    resolution changes.  Exit CreataCard Internet Edition and restart it when
  25.    changing your display settings.

  27. 3. Long file names are not supported in the setup program.  To install to a
  28.    path that includes a long filename, use the "~".  For example, if you want
  29.    to install to c:\Program Files, you would have to type "c:\progra~1".

  32. CreataCard Online
  33. -----------------

  35. CreataCard Internet Edition will automatically launch your default Internet
  36. web browser and go to the CreataCard Online web site when you click on
  37. CreataCard Online.  Your default Internet web browser is defined as whatever
  38. application has associated itself with the .HTM file extension.  However, some
  39. web browsers do not associate themselves with .HTM files, and thus cannot be
  40. launched automatically by CreataCard Internet Edition.  If you are using one
  41. of these web browsers, you can still access CreataCard Online by running your
  42. browser and going to the http://www.creatacard.com website.

  45. Personal Delivery
  46. -----------------

  48. Personal Delivery enables you to order a card from American Greetings and have
  49. them print and mail or e-mail a card for you!  This feature requires a modem
  50. to transmit your order to American Greetings.  There is plenty of help
  51. available within CreataCard Internet Edition and in the CreataCard Internet
  52. Edition User's Guide.  However, should you experience any trouble transmitting
  53. your order, there are a few additional settings that you can make to your
  54. CACARD.INI file to customize your modem settings.  The following settings can
  55. be added to the [Comm Settings] section of the CACARD.INI file:

  57.     Baud Rate=
  58.         In general, if you are experiencing errors while transmitting your
  59.         order, try lowering the baud rate.  There are four baud rates that may
  60.         be set from within the application.  You can choose any other valid
  61.         baud rate, from 10 to 115200, by changing this setting directly.

  63.     ModemInit=
  64.         This specifies a custom modem initialization string.  This setting is
  65.         not configurable from within the application.  If this setting does
  66.         not exist in CACARD.INI (the default), the application will use the
  67.         default generic internal modem initialization sequence of ATQ0E0V1S0=0
  68.         and then AT&D2.  You can configure any modem initialization command
  69.         for your modem here.  Use \r to represent a carriage return (one will
  70.         not be added automatically) and use ~ to represent a 1/2 second pause.
  71.         CreataCard Internet Edition requires that your modem respond with
  72.         verbal result codes, so ATQ0V1\r is the minimum required
  73.         initialization string.  See your modem's user's manual for information
  74.         on modem initialization strings specific to your modem.

  76.     Handshake=
  77.         This specifies the handshaking or flow control mode to use.
  78.         Handshake=N (the default) means no flow control, Handshake=H means use
  79.         RTS/CTS flow control, and Handshake=X means use XON/XOFF flow control.

  82. Back Page Art

  85. Back Page Art is the logo or insignia that you might see on the back of your
  86. favorite card.  We have included a selection of Back Page Art that you can
  87. personalize to add that finishing touch.  Whenever you edit back page art, the
  88. changes that you make are saved.

  90. If, at any time, you would like to return to the default back page art that
  91. was supplied with CreataCard Internet Edition, simply delete the file
  92. backpage.csf.  This file is located wherever you installed CreataCard Internet
  93. Edition, in the DATA subdirectory.
