  11. These are some introductory notes for Go Learn It!. 
  12.  
  13. OVERVIEW OF GO LEARN IT!
  14.  
  15. Use this program to study French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian, 
  16. or any other subject where there are equivalent things that can be matched.
  17. With this program you can use your computer to study from any textbook or
  18. study guide. For any subject, you can make files of dates and events, 
  19. persons and their significance, things and their characteristics, etc. 
  20. Or, you can just learn the words and phrases in the files you receive 
  21. when you register.

  23. This program is very straight forward. It is easy to learn and easy to run. 
  24. It has features that no other language learning program has, including 
  25. the ability to deal with multiple correct answers and the option of having 
  26. your answer count as correct even if your capitalization, punctuation and 
  27. spacing is not exactly the same as the answer stored in the computer.

  29. You can test yourself by multiple choice and fill in. You can translate
  30. from English to a foreign language and from a foreign language to English.
  31. You can make new files, edit existing files, add to files, look at files
  32. and print files.

  34. Each time you test yourself the entries are randomly mixed ( and if you
  35. choose a multiple choice test so are the answers).  
  36.  
  37. There are other options, such as timing yourself, setting a time limit,
  38. seeing a variety of icons with your answers, and scrambling the 
  39. entries.

  41. You can retest yourself on your mistakes and print them out for further
  42. study.

  44. I have included some files made with this program. The included files 
  45. will give you ideas of how you can use this program. 
  46. The included files are:
  47.  
  48.       1.) Three vocabulary files each for French, German, Italian, 
  49.       Spanish and Russian.
  50.  
  51.       2.) Data files with states and their capitol cities, European 
  52.       countries and their capitol cities, some varied and simple 
  53.       arithmetic problems (for kids), stars who have won an Oscar 
  54.       and the picture they won it for, inventors and their inventions,
  55.       pop music,  the arts, synonyms and antonyms.

  57. The included files will give you an idea of the kinds of files you can 
  58. create yourself.

  60. If you register you will receive files with approximately 3500 vocabulary 
  61. words and phrases (around 750 each for French, German, Italian and 
  62. Spanish; about 500 for Russian), more data files and two games. One, called
  63. Smiles, will help you learn what is in the files created with this program.
  64. The other is a fun way to waste time.

  66. This program requires Windows 3.1, the True Type font option installed 
  67. and enabled, and an unzipping utility. If you have Windows 3.1 you can 
  68. run True Type fonts.

  71. INSTALLATION
  72.  
  73. 1. In order to install this program, open the File menu from Program Manager.
  74. and Select Run. If the files are on a floppy, type the letter
  75. of the drive that the floppy is in, a colon, and the word "Install", and 
  76. press Enter. If the files are on a hard disk directory, type the path, 
  77. a backslash and the word "Install" and press Enter. Or, double click 
  78. "Install.exe" from File Manager.

  80. 2. You can check if you have the True Type option is enabled by
  81. opening the Fonts program in the Control Panel group, clicking on the True 
  82. Type button and seeing if the enabled box is checked. If so, fine. If not,
  83. check it, click the  OK button and then restart windows.
  84. You can also call up the Font program by running RussFont, a program 
  85. included with this package (see 3. below).

  87. 3. If you want to use the programs to study Russian, you must install a 
  88. Russian font, which is included. I have also included a program to help you
  89. install the font, called RussFont.

  91. 4. If the Install program will not load everything, then copy everything 
  92. into a directory of your choice except Learnit.hlp, which goes in your main
  93. Windows directory.

  100. This program is not free. It is Shareware. This means that you may try it
  101. out before you decide whether or not to buy it. After you have tried it 
  102. out, if you intend to keep using it you must register it by sending $19.95 
  103. plus $1.75 for postage and supplies to

  116. you must transfer all the files on the disk or in the .ZIP file. Each 
  117. user must send in registration fees and costs unless they are members of 
  118. the same household or family as someone who has registered.

  120. You can pay be check or charge the fees and costs to your Visa or 
  121. Mastercard. If you charge it, use the orderform (orderfrm.txt) or send me 
  122. your card number, card expiration date and signature.

  124. I receive no other income from my programming. Equipment costs, supplies,
