  1. WebWatch is a tool for keeping track of changes in selected Web 
  2. documents.Given an HTML document referencing URLs on the Web, 
  3. WebWatch produces a filtered list, containing only those URLs 
  4. that have been modified since a given time.

  6. The input file can be e.g.
  7. - the bookmark file of Netscape; or 
  8. - the exported (to HTML format) hotlist of Mosaic; or 
  9. - any other, standard HTML document, edited locally or 
  10. retrieved from the Web.

  12. The time used for filtering
  13. - can be given as a global setting that applies to all URLs, or 
  14. - WebWatch can derive it automatically, using the time of your 
  15. last visit to the document, as recorded by your Web browser in 
  16. your local HTML (bookmark) file.

  18. WebWatch generates a local HTML document that contains links to 
  19. only those documents which were updated after the given date. 
  20. You can load this document into any Web browser and use it to 
  21. navigate to the updated documents.

  23. WebWatch stores its arguments in a parameter file. Once you 
  24. have customized the program to your needs, using its graphical 
  25. front-end, you can have it run in unattended mode, periodically.

  27. WebWatch supports the use of proxy servers, and proxy and user
  28. authentication. (UserId/Password.)

  30. WebWatch is currently available for every (16 and 32 bit) 
  31. Windows platforms.

  33. WebWatch is shareware. Single user registration after 30 days 
  34. evaluation is US $18. We offer free registration for every new 
  35. bug found.
