  1. PMCPU090.ZIP contains the following files:

  3.     pmcpu.exe
  4.     readme.txt
  5.     file_id.diz
  6.  
  7. PMCPU is a replacement for PULSE.EXE which on my system is inaccurate
  8. when the system is overloaded. It also has some added features.
  9.  
  10. PMCPU is FreeWare.
  11.  
  12. The pulldown menu has the following chioces:
  13.  
  14.     Change colours - Allows the foreground and background colours to be changed
  15.     Change options - Allows the default options to be modified
  16.     About - Shows the product information
  17.     Exit - Exits the program
  18.  
  19. The Change colours dialog box:
  20.  
  21. To change the foreground colour click on the chosen colour with mouse button 1 (The
  22. left button on right-handed mice)
  23. To change the background colour click on the chosen colour with mous button 2 (The
  24. right button on right-handed mice)

  26. The Change options dialog box:

  28. The 'Average' check button allows the meter to show an avera of the last few samples. 
  29. The number of samples averaged is given in the 'Average over' entry field.
  30. The 'Auto size' check button allows the meter to size it buffer according to the size 
  31. of the client window.
  32. The 'Slow counting' check button allows the meter to take samples less often and hence
  33. reduces the CPU time used, but is inaccurate especially at low update periods.
  34. The 'Titlebar' check button allows the meter to be diplayed with or without a titlebar, this
  35. option will only be updated when the program is restarted.

  37. The About dialog box:

  39. This shows the product information and allows you to recalibrate the meter if the minimum
  40. is not at the bottom of the client window.
