Installation
============
To install Amazeing 5.11, follow these steps:
Windows 3.1:
1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING.
2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
programs you might get that need it.)
3) Select the program group where you want to put
Amazeing.
3) Choose "New" from the "File" menu in Program Manager
and select "Program Item".
4) Enter the program name "Amazeing", and path to
AMAZEING.EXE. For the previous example, this is
"C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING\AMAZEING.EXE". (Leave
out the quotes.)
5) Click Ok, and you'll see the icon appear.
Windows 95:
1) Copy all files to one directory, for example
C:\WINDOWS\GAMES\AMAZEING.
2) Copy CTL3D.DLL to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory
if you wish. (Makes it accessible for any other
programs you might get that need it.)
3) Choose "Taskbar" from the "Settings" menu
found by clicking the "Start" button. Alternatively
click the right mouse button on the taskbar and
select "Properties..."
4) Click the "Start menu programs" tab at the top
of the dialog box that appears, then click the
"Add..." button.
5) Enter similar details as step 4 for Windows 3.1.
Click the "Next" button, select the menu where you
want Amazeing to appear and click "Next" again.
Then type the name "Amazeing 5" and click "Finish."
Special Notes and Requirements
==============================
Amazeing 5.11 requires Windows 3.1 or above, and a colour
display device, preferably a 256 colour one. Other than that,
it should run on just about any machine. However, the faster
the better, and to get a decent game play speed, you should
use a 486 DX/66 with an accelerated video card.
If the bitmap animation is too slow for your video card
(that is, the special way the larger bitmaps are displayed,
such as the About dialog box), manually edit AMAZEING.INI and
change the value of the "AnimateBigBitmaps" line from "1" to "0".
For cheats, hints, patches, and add-on packs on the World
Wide Web, go to the Amazeing page at:
http://www.ecel.uwa.edu.au/~sswain/amazeing
Note: this may change (as may my email address). If you can't
find it, do a search on the web for "Amazeing" or for my name, and
you should be able to find it.
