The Crystallize effect creates the appearance of breaking the image into a collection of 'crystals' with random shapes and a consistent color. Drag the Crystal Size slider to change the size of the crystals. Choosing Lightness Only will crystallize only the intensity channel, leaving the hues unchanged.
