  4. MEGACAD INSTALLATION:
  5.  
  6. Perform the following to install MegaCad:
  7.  
  8. 1) Start the Microsoft Windows operating system.
  9.  
  10. 2) Insert the MegaCad disk into floppy drive A: (or B:). Skip this
  11.    step if MegaCad was downloaded from a bulletin board.
  12.  
  13. 3) If MegaCad was downloaded from a bulletin board de-compress the
  14.    archive file (PKUNZIP MGCAD10.ZIP).
  15.  
  16. 4) In Program Manager choose Run from the File menu.  If installing
  17.    from a floppy disk type A:SETUP (or B:SETUP) in the Command Line box.
  18.    If MegaCad was downloaded from a bulletin board type the complete path
  19.    name to the SETUP.EXE file.  Then click the OK button with the mouse.

  21. 5) Follow the on-screen instructions to install MegaCad.
  22.  
  23. MegaCad is a powerful, easy to learn CAD (Computer Aided Design)
  24. program designed to meet all of your CAD needs.  It can produce
  25. accurately scaled architectural or mechanical drawings, or just
  26. pretty pictures to paste into your favorite word processor.
  27. MegaCad is more than just a paint program, because you can edit,
  28. scale, move, rotate, copy, etc. individual objects, not just paint
  29. pixels.  MegaCad allows you to zoom in to draw fine details or
  30. zoom out to see the whole drawing.

  72. of MegaCad along to your friends for evaluation.  Please

  75. version of MegaCad, a printed manual, and an authorization
  76. code to prevent MegaCad from displaying registration
  77. reminder messages.

  79. The printed MegaCad manual contains the same text as the
  80. MegaCad on-line help system, except the manual contains a
  81. tutorial to help you learn MegaCad, and the manual contains
  82. many pictures and figures for clarification.

  84. To register a copy of MegaCad pick Register from the Help
  85. menu, fill in all of the information, pick the OK button to
  86. print your registration sheet, then mail the registration sheet
  87. and a proper remittance to the address shown.

  89. Except for the registration reminder messages the shareware
  90. and registered versions of MegaCad are identical.  This allows
  91. you to try the actual product, not just a demo version.

  107. programs produced by its members are not "crippled".  This allows
  108. you to test out the actual product, and assures you that the
  109. program will not quit working after a period of time.

  111. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE

  113. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  114. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  115. using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  116. differ on details -- some request registration while others
  117. require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  118. registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
  119. using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  121. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  122. and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  123. exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  124. programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  125. of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  126. and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  127. distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  128. and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  129. specific group. For example, some authors require written
  130. permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  131. Shareware.

  133. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  134. should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  135. whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  136. fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.

  138. has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  139. product, you don't pay for it.

  148. or consequential, which may result from the use of MegaCad.

  150. MegaCad is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
  151. to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with your
  152. friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  153. another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  154. provide personal computer users with quality software without
  155. high prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to
  156. continue to develop new products.  If you find this program
  157. useful and find that you are using MegaCad and continue to use
  158. MegaCad after a 30 day trial period, you must make a registration
  159. payment of $49.95 to Midnight Software, Inc. The $49.95
  160. registration fee will license one copy for use on any one
  161. computer at any one time.

  163. Commercial users of MegaCad must register and pay for their
  164. copies of MegaCad within 30 days of first use or their license
  165. is withdrawn.

  167. If MegaCad is used for more than 30 days on a computer network,
  168. then each computer which has access to MegaCad must register a
  169. copy of MegaCad

  177. Anyone distributing MegaCad for any kind of remuneration must
  178. first contact Midnight Software Inc. at the address shown above for
  179. authorization. This authorization will be automatically granted
  180. to distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines
  181. for shareware distributors, and such distributors may begin offering
  182. MegaCad immediately (However Midnight Software, Inc. must still be
  183. advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the
  184. latest version of MegaCad.).
