- Spam Hater
-
- Spam Hater reads the Spam you've received and prepares a
- flame in reply
-
- How to use Spam Hater
-
- - View the Spam in Ameol (or other mailer - see below)
- - Select a specific mailer with the E-Mail program selector
- - Press "Analyse the Spam"
- - Click on "Go!"
-
- Spam Hater opens a new mail form and fills in the address, subject
- and message. Send it off in the normal way
-
- Details and Options
-
- Remove - removes the selected address from the list
-
- Remove Forever - removes that address from the list and prevents
- it from ever being in the list again
-
- Add abuse@domains - Many sites provide an abuse@site address. This
- button adds them to the list
-
- Add postmaster@domains - Every site should provide a postmaster@site
- address. This button adds them to the list.
-
- SPAMMSGn.TXT - Gives you a choice of three standard messages. You may
- choose to edit them with any standard text editor.
-
- Domain Enquiries: Helps locate the names behind the addresses
-
- Trace Route: Helps locate the upstream provider of a spammer. Trace
- Route returns a list of all the hosts between the spam-domain and the
- server doing the trace route. A typical trace will look like:...
-
- 9 upstream.net (111.222.333.444) 101 ms 87 ms 108 ms
- 10 spammer.com (123.456.789.012) 95 ms 90 ms 91 ms
-
- This tells you that mailing postmaster@upstream.net may turn up the heat.
-
- Advanced: If you put /a on the command line that launches Spam Hater
- there's no need to push the "Analyse the Spam" button
-
- Spam Hater requires Windows and needs to find VBRUN300.DLL in your
- WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
