  3. Spam Hater reads the Spam you've received and prepares a
  4. flame in reply
  5.  
  6. How to use Spam Hater
  7.  
  8. - View the Spam in Ameol (or other mailer - see below)
  9. - Select a specific mailer with the E-Mail program selector
  10. - Press "Analyse the Spam"
  11. - Click on "Go!"
  12.  
  13. Spam Hater opens a new mail form and fills in the address, subject
  14. and message. Send it off in the normal way
  15.  
  16. Details and Options
  17.  
  18. Remove - removes the selected address from the list
  19.  
  20. Remove Forever - removes that address from the list and prevents
  21. it from ever being in the list again
  22.  
  23. Add abuse@domains - Many sites provide an abuse@site address. This
  24. button adds them to the list
  25.  
  26. Add postmaster@domains - Every site should provide a postmaster@site
  27. address. This button adds them to the list.
  28.  
  29. SPAMMSGn.TXT - Gives you a choice of three standard messages. You may
  30. choose to edit them with any standard text editor.
  31.  
  32. Domain Enquiries: Helps locate the names behind the addresses
  33.  
  34. Trace Route: Helps locate the upstream provider of a spammer. Trace 
  35. Route returns a list of all the hosts between the spam-domain and the
  36. server doing the trace route. A typical trace will look like:...

  38. 9  upstream.net (111.222.333.444)  101 ms  87 ms  108 ms
  39. 10  spammer.com (123.456.789.012)  95 ms  90 ms  91 ms
  40.  
  41. This tells you that mailing postmaster@upstream.net may turn up the heat.

  43. Advanced: If you put /a on the command line that launches Spam Hater
  44. there's no need to push the "Analyse the Spam" button
  45.  
  46. Spam Hater requires Windows and needs to find VBRUN300.DLL in your 
  47. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  87. - Select Settings, then  Toolbar (Not "Tool Bar")
  88. - In the Category list, find Spares (at the bottom)
  89. - Click on the spare tyre button in the list and drag it too the toolbar (IE, 
  90. don't release the mouse button)
  91. - One you reach the toolbar, you release the button
  92. - Click on Browse and find spamhate.exe. You will see a line in the External 
  93. Application box (typically)
