- {Making a rescue diskette
- ────────────────────────}
- A rescue diskette is prepared before disaster strikes, to
- enable you to reboot an unbootable hard disk and
- automatically recover the boot area.
- Here's how to make one:
- ■ Format a floppy in drive A: with the command {FORMAT A: /S}
- ■ The installer will copy vital AVAST! programs to this
- disk and, using BGUARD, save critical information about
- your hard disk. Label this disk, write-protect it, and
- put it in a safe place.

- Here is how to make more copies of the distribution disk:
- ■ Prepare two formatted diskettes (min. 1.2 MB).
- ■ Insert these disks into the drive you select.
- ■ AVAST! files for {DOS} are placed on the {first} diskette,
- AVAST! files for {Windows} are placed on the {second}.
- ■ Label and write-protect these diskettes.
