-
- INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
-
- Requirements:
- 1) Hardware must be year 2000 ready (check with your hardware vendor).
- 2) The 32bit Netware Administrator. This is located with the Novell Clients at
- <@@http://www.novell.com/download,www.novell.com/download@@>
- 3) All of the current patches must be installed in addition to this patch.
- These can be found on the Support Connection CD and on the Internet at
- <@@http://support.novell.com/misc/patlst.htm,Minimum Patch List@@>
-
-
-
- 1. Make a back-up copy or rename the original files before replacing them.
-
- 2. The directory structure is arranged so that files in each directory will be
- copied to their respective directory on a server.
-
- For Example:
- SYS\PUBLIC\RCONSOLE.EXE should be copied to the server's SYS: volume in the
- PUBLIC directory.
-
-
-
- If the patch kit 410PT8B.EXE or later has already been installed, disregard
- installing LOADER.EXE.
-
- LOADER.EXE Instructions:
-
- 1. Copy the LOADER.EXE and LSWAP.EXE files from \BOOT to the appropriate
- NetWare boot directory of the server (for example, C:\NWSERVER).
-
- 2. Execute the following command at the DOS prompt while in the server boot
- directory:
-
- Usage: LSWAP [LoaderFilePath [ServerFilePath]]
- Default LoaderFilePath = C:\NWSERVER\LOADER.EXE
- Default ServerFilePath = C:\NWSERVER\SERVER.EXE
-
-
- ISSUE:
-
- PROBLEMS RESOLVED:
-
- LOADER.EXE
- The file server could abend at the year 2000 roll over to 1/1/2000. Using the
- SET TIME command, the BIOS clock would also be reset to the year 1980. (This
- patch is also contained in the 410PT8B.EXE file.)
-
- RCONSOLE.EXE
- When selecting the directory scan option, the year as indicated by the file
- creation date displays as 100 instead of 00, 134 instead of 34, etc.
-
- MENU.OVL
- With the NMENU program the only incorrect date is found by hitting the <F2> key
- and looking at the "Logged On Since" parameter. Logged in since date displays
- the year as 100 for 2000, 134 for 2034, etc.
-
-
-
- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
-
- - The utilities netadmin.exe and nwadmin.exe are 16 bit utilities that have
- minor year 2000 problem, they are unable to set deferred printing after the
- year 1999. Please use the 32 bit administration tool from the client CD or
- from <@@http://www.novell.com/download,www.novell.com/download@@>.
-
- - Previously this file contained NETUSER.EXE, but there really was not year
- 2000 fix in this file. This utility requires the time zone variable (TZ) be set
- at the client workstation, or the wrong time will be displayed.
