  1. Using Access Databases

  4. The default installation of DataChart installs the Borland Database Engine Version 4.51, configured to be able to interpret Access 97 database files.

  6. However, to use this feature, you must have the Access Jet engine core files (DAO 3.5) already installed on your machine.  This should be the case if you have installed Microsoft Access 97, Microsoft Office 97, or another application which provides the proper files.

  8. If you prefer to use Access 95 files on your machine, some adjustments will have to be made.

  10. Run the BDE Administrator program from the DataChart folder,
  11. - choose the configuration tab,
  12. - expand "configuration",
  13. - expand "drivers",
  14. - expand "native",
  15. - choose "MSACCESS",
  16. - under the Definition tab entry DLL32 choose IDDAO32.DLL
  17.  
  18. This will enable the Access 95 driver, providing you have the DAO 3.0 files installed.  This should be the case if you have installed one of the applications which provides Access 95 capabilities.  If you later want to enable Access 97 capability, repeat the process above with the BDE Administrator program, but under the Definition tab entry DLL32 choose IDDA3532.DLL
