  93.         The Developer Kit technology has been used in over 25 parallel port
  94.         devices including network adapters, parallel port SCSI and IDE
  95.         disks, parallel port wireless IR adapters, parallel port MIDI and
  96.         mouse interfaces, parallel to serial interfaces, and so forth.

  144.                     can operate bi-directionally at very high speeds
  145.                     (upwards of 300Kbyte/sec) even on the installed base of
  146.                     "old-fashioned" standard parallel ports.

  149.                     1284 ports and printers. It is a compatible enhancement
  150.                     that allows printer vendors to support high-speed
  151.                     operation without requiring EPP and ECP ports.

  153.         DirectNet -- The Parallel Port Networking System
  154.         ------------------------------------------------

  156.                     The DirectNet parallel port networking system has been
  157.                     incorporated into Windows 95 and may be licensed for
  158.                     inclusion in other operating environments.

  160.                     The DirectNet system is a family of completely external
  161.                     connection devices and network driver software that
  162.                     allows PC-to-PC plug-and-play cable connections to be
  163.                     used as an alternative to more expensive LAN hardware.

  165.                     The DirectNet hardware technology includes 3 point-to-
  166.                     point cables, and multiport hub, and a distributed
  167.                     multdrop system which uses RJ-11 standard phone wiring.

  169.                     DirectNet supports speeds of 40 - 500+ KBytes/sec
  170.                     depending on the parallel ports involved and various
  171.                     other factors. The system is completely self-adaptive.

  173.                     Because DirectNet provides a suite of standard network
  174.                     drivers, it may be used with many existing networking
  175.                     and connectivity systems such as Windows 95, Windows
  176.                     for Workgroups, Netware Lite and Personal Netware, etc.
  177.                     DirectNet connections have been tested with more than a
  178.                     dozen commonly available networking and connectivity
  179.                     software packages.

  190.                     A handy utility which examines your system's parallel
  191.                     ports and reports the Port Type, IO address, IRQ level,
  192.                     BIOS name, and an assortment of informative notes and
  193.                     warnings in a compact and easy to read display. The
  194.                     output may be redirected to a file for tech support
  195.                     purposes. Parallel uses very sophisticated techniques
  196.                     for port and IRQ detection and is aware of a broad
  197.                     range of quirky port features.

  199.                     Parallel is the definitive parallel Tech Support tool.

  201.                     Parallel is Freeware, subject to a restricted license
  202.                     agreement. It may be used free of charge for any
  203.                     personal, non-commercial purpose. Parallel may not be
