  5. WHAT IS TRIPLE YAHOO!?
  6.  
  7. Triple Yahoo! is a game for Windows 3.x similar to the popular
  8. Triple Yahtzee board game, by Milton Bradley. Players roll
  9. animated dice and score in different categories to gain points.
  10. When all scores are made, the player with the most points is
  11. the winner. Triple Yahoo! supports user-configurable Windows 3.1
  12. sound effects via .WAV files if a sound board is installed.

  14. Triple Yahoo! is Shareware, and a registration fee of $10 is
  15. required if used past the 30-day evaluation period.

  38. INSTALLATION
  39.  
  40. To install the evaluation version of Triple Yahoo!, create a
  41. subdirectory and copy all the included files into this sub-
  42. directory. Copy the file VBRUN200.DLL (distributed separately,
  43. and available for free) to either this same subdirectory or
  44. into the Windows "System" subdirectory. If you have multiple
  45. programs that require VBRUN200.DLL to run, it is better to
  46. put a single copy in the Windows System subdirectory rather
  47. than to have duplicates in different subdirectories on your
  48. hard disk.

  51. STARTING TRIPLE YAHOO!
  52.  
  53. To start Triple Yahoo!, you can simply double-click on TYAHOO.EXE
  54. from the file manager, or define a new program item in the Program
  55. Manager. Once started, you must enter the names of the players.
  56. Choose NEW GAME from the FILE menu, enter the player(s) names,
  57. and click CONTINUE. Click the ROLL button and you're off!

  60. OPTIONS

  62. You can change certain program settings from the OPTIONS menu,
  63. and save them to disk by choosing SAVE SETTINGS. The options are:

  65.   Sound Effects:   Wave Audio (MCI)     plays digitized sounds
  66.                    PC Speaker (beeps)   beeps the PC speaker
  67.                    Sound Off            no sound
  68.  
  69.   Roll Animation:  Can be turned off for slower PC's

  72. CUSTOM SOUND EFFECTS
  73.  
  74. Custom sound effects can be used by replacing any of the included
  75. five .WAV files with your own. Files must be named as indicated.

  78. PLAYING TRIPLE YAHOO!
  79.  
  80. To play Triple Yahoo!, players take turns rolling the dice and
  81. scoring points. After each roll, possible scores are displayed in
  82. red, and zero scores in grey. You can choose where to score at
  83. any time possible scores are displayed by clicking on the desired
  84. score position. If you choose to re-roll, click on the undesired
  85. dice and press the ROLL button. Each player gets up to three
  86. rolls before they must choose a score. Sometimes a score of zero
  87. must be chosen, and is best taken from the single score column.

  89. There are three columns for scoring. The first scores single point
  90. values, the second scores double, and the third scores triple.
  91.  
  92. If the point values of "Ones" through "Sixes" total 63 or higher,
  93. a bonus of 35 is given (3-of-a-kind in each category is required to
  94. get 63 points). The Double and Triple columns require multiples of
  95. 63, respectively, and receive double and triple bonus values.

  97. When the board is filled, the game is over. The player with the
  98. most points is the winner and is automatically entered in the
  99. high-scores file if qualified.

  104. Point values for Triple Yahoo! are as follows:

  106.  Ones             only 1's are scored
  107.  Twos             only 2's are scored
  108.  Threes           only 3's are scored
  109.  Fours            only 4's are scored
  110.  Fives            only 5's are scored
  111.  Sixes            only 6's are scored
  112.  Three of a Kind  must have 3-of-a-kind, all dice are scored
  113.  Four of a Kind   must have 4-of-a-kind, all dice are scored
  114.  Full House       must have 2-of-a-kind AND 3-of-a-kind, score 25
  115.  Small Straight   must have a sequence of 4, score 30
  116.  Large Straight   must have a sequence of 5, score 40
  117.  Yahoo!           must have 5-of-a-kind, score 50
  118.  Pot Luck         total of all dice is scored

  124. valid for 30-days. Any use Triple Yahoo! after the 30-day trial
