  3. Welcome to TimePALm (c) 1998, ufp (pronounced with a silent "m").

  5. Installation
  6. ---------------
  7. This software will only run on Windows 95-98 or Windows NT. There is
  8. currently no support for 16 bit Windows (3.1 or WFW) or Macintosh.
  9.  
  10. The installation program will install the TimePALm files onto your
  11. computer and prepare the PalmPilot software for installation during
  12. your next HotSync. Please report any problems to
  13. <installpalm@ufp.com>.

  15. To install the files, unzip the archive to a temporary directory and
  16. run SETUP by double clicking the icon or locating the executable in
  17. the Start/Run dialog. The install will copy the files to the Pilot
  18. Desktop directory, add appropriate registry entries, prepare the .prc
  19. for installation during the next HotSync, and display this README. The
  20. install will attempt to close the HotSync Manager if it is
  21. running. You must restart the HotSync manager for TimePALm to
  22. function.

  24. Uninstallation
  25. ---------------
  26. Uninstallation is as simple as installation. Run the SETUP program
  27. with the -u option. This will uninstall the files from your host
  28. machine and remove the entries from your registry. This will NOT
  29. remove the files from your PalmPilot. You must run the memory
  30. application to do this. The SETUP program is not copied to your
  31. machine. You must run SETUP from the original downloaded archive.

  33. TimePALm
  34. ---------------
  35. TimePALm is simple. Assuming your PC connects to the internet or some
  36. other service more often than your PalmPilot, your PC's clock should
  37. be fairly accurate. There are countless programs available to sync up
  38. your PC's clock with internet Time Servers and various atomic clocks
  39. around the country.

  41. TimePALm will sync up your PalmPilot's clock with your PC's clock
  42. every time you HotSync. The operation is completely transparent and
  43. requires no user intervention. If you want to know how much the last
  44. sync changed the clock, run the PalmPilot application and it will show
  45. you the change. This software is shareware. If you like it, register
  46. it. If you don't like it, don't use it.

  50. CoolSync
  51. ---------------
  52. CoolSync allows you to set the clock of your PalmPilot when, for
  53. whatever reason, you are unable to HotSync. CoolSync calculates how
  54. fast or slow your PalmPilot's clock is and adjusts it accordingly. The
  55. more sync records you save, the more accurate CoolSync will
  56. be. Assuming you HotSync once a day and you keep about ten to fifteen
  57. records, CoolSync will be fairly accurate. You can specify how many
  58. records you wish to keep in the CoolSync Preferences. CoolSync is only
  59. available in the registered version of TimePALm.

  63. Registration
  64. ---------------
  65. If you like using TimePALm, please register the software for US $5.
  66. The registered version includes CoolSync technology and free
  67. maintenance upgrades (i.e. bug fixes). See

  71. ---------------
  72. The program is copyrighted shareware. Unmodified distribution of the
  73. unregistered version is allowed, but it may not be modified and then
  74. distributed, and no more then a nominal copying fee can be charged for
  75. distribution. The registered version may not be distributed. Please
  76. retain this document with the program.

  79. strictly at your own risk. I do not expect this program to damage your Pilot
  80. or the information stored on it, but I cannot guarantee that it will not. If
