  1. Super Names 1.5 Version History & Read Me File

  4. NOTE:     If you are upgrading from a pre-1.5 version of Super Names to 1.5, 
  5. you'll need to update your Links. To do this, install the enclosed SNConvert.prc
  6. file, and open it up. Just tap the button, and all your links will be converted to the
  7. new format. You can then delete the SN Converter package, and you're data will be updated.
  8.  
  9. When using 1.5, if you go to your built in Address book and look at the Notes field for 
  10. entries, you may see odd characters, preceded by the string "-- Do Not Modify (SN) --". This
  11. is the link information for your Addresses. Do not modify it. You can change any text within
  12. brackets: [ ]'s (ie, you will see additional phone numbers like this: [H:773-477-2492]. You can
  13. change this if you like, but don't modify the brackets themselves, or other information that comes
  14. AFTER the "-- Do Not Modify (SN) --" text.

  16. NOTE: Some people are having difficulties installing Super Names Find on 
  17. Palm Vx units. If you encounter a problem, try installing the enclosed 
  18. "SN Find.prc" file. This will remove the need to install SN Find from within
  19. Super Names. Removal procedures are the same (see below).

  21. NOTE: If you decide you no longer wish to use Super Names, it is easy to 
  22. remove from your Palm OS device. First, go into the application and, from
  23. the Options menu, select "Install/Remove SN Find". A window will come up,
  24. asking either to confirm the installation or removal. If you haven't 
  25. installed Super Names Find, select the "Cancel" button, otherwise go ahead
  26. and hit the "Remove" button. Then go to your application launcher and
  27. delete Super Names as you would any other piece of software (via the Delete...
  28. menu option on Palm OS 3.0 and above, or the Memory application on earlier
  29. models.)

  31. NOTE: If you are using a Palm III or later, and wish to receive beamed names,
  32. you need to activate the "Super Names Find" option (via the Options menu in
  33. Super Names).

  38. About Super Names Find-
  39. Super Names Find is a simple enhancemnt which simply 'redirects' find requests
  40. so that they are handled by Super Names instead of the built in Address book.
  41. It also redirects beam reception so that addresses beamed to your Palm III are 
  42. automatically handled by Super Names.
  43.  
  44. No configuration or interface is needed...just open Super Names and select 
  45. "Install/Remove Super Names Find" from the menu. Follow the same procedure to 
  46. remove it. It's a good idea to remove Super Names find before removing Super Names
  47. or installing a new version, then reinstalling it once you've install the new
  48. version of Super Names.

  238. have installed 1.29 it is important that you install 1.3 as soon 
  239. as possible to prevent any further link damage.

  293.     o Back on your desktop, install BOTH the NEW version of Super Names
  294.         and the file labeled "Super Names Links" (it should be in your
  295.         "Backup" directory or folder. 
  296.     o Now HotSync again, and the new version of Super Names will be installed,
  297.         along with all your Linked information.
