  10. This document provides information about this version of the
  11. Natara Project@Hand project management application for the
  12. Palm Computing platform.

  27. Thank you for purchasing Natara Project@Hand.  We hope you
  28. find this application a useful extension to your handheld 
  29. device.
  30.  
  31. Project@Hand installs in a 30 day evaluation mode.  The
  32. full product feature set is avaialable for your use.  After
  33. 30 days the conduit will no longer synchronize the projects
  34. until a product registration code is entered.
  35.  
  36. NOTE:
  37.   If you are upgrading from version 1.3.1, and plan to 
  38.   synchronize multiple Palm devices to the same desktop
  39.   machine, remove all project configurations on the projects
  40.   tab, then add the projects for each HotSync Manager user.

  44. 2.0  Quick Start Steps
  45. ============================================================
  46.  
  47. The following steps will get you up and running with 
  48. Project@Hand.
  49.  
  50. 1) Run the setup program from the Project@Hand CD.  If
  51.    the install files where downloaded from Natara's web site,
  52.    unzip the files into a temporary directory and
  53.    run the setup program from that location.
  54.  
  55. 2) Run the Project@Hand configuration program from the Start 
  56.    menu (or the window left open on your desktop by the 
  57.    installation program).  The default is location on the
  58.    start menu is:
  59.      Start->Programs->Natara Software->Configure Project@Hand
  60.  
  61. 3) Respond "Yes" to the message box question to install the handheld
  62.    application during the next HotSync.  This question is only
  63.    presented the first time you run the configuration program.
  64.  
  65. 4) Switch to the "Projects" tab and click the Add button.  Use 
  66.    the standard file open dialog to select the Microsoft 
  67.    Project 98 file you want to use on your Palm Computing device.
  68.  
  69. 6) Click OK to save your configuration and exit.
  70.  
  71. 7) Perform a HotSync.  The Project@Hand application is now installed 
  72.    on your handheld.
  73.  
  74. 8) Perform a second HotSync.  Your project is now installed on your
  75.    handheld and is ready for use. (NOTE: The second HotSync is only 
  76.    necessary after you first install Project@Hand. After that, your
  77.    project database and file will by updated with each normal HotSync.)

  81. 3.0  Uninstalling
  82. ============================================================

  84. If you uninstall Project@Hand, you may be asked if
  85. mfc42.dll can be deleted.  It appears that the installation
  86. of the HotSync Manager does not properly reference count
  87. this DLL.  Respond to the uninstall prompt asking it not to 
  88. delete the DLL.

  92. 4.0  Product Limitations
  93. ============================================================
  94.  
  95. 1)  This product only supports Microsoft Project 98 and
  96.     Project 2000 running on Win95/98, Windows NT 4.0, and
  97.     Windows 20000.
  98.  
  99. 2)  When synchronizing more than one MS Project file with
  100.     your palmtop device, the file names must be unique within 
  101.     the first 28 characters.
  102.  
  103. 3)  The maximum size of a single task note is limited to 
  104.     28 KiloBytes.
  105.     When using a version of Project 98 before SR-1, notes are 
  106.     truncated at 256 characters.  For this reason, we 
  107.     recommend that version SR-1 or higher be used.
  108.  
  109. 4)  Project@Hand is not intended to create new projects from
  110.     the Palm Computing device. Microsoft Project 98/2000 is the
  111.     best place to do that.
  112.  
  113. 5)  Synchronizing the same project on multiple Windows machines
  114.     is not suggested at this time.
  115.  
  116. 6)  Due to a problem with the conduit and HotSync Manager, a 
  117.     maximum of 32 projects can be synchronized.
  118.     If you exceed this limit, synchronization may silently fail.

  225.              when synchronization starts, a warning is posted to
  226.              the HotSync log and synchronization skipped.
  227.     (New)    Uninstall now cleans up the user's HotSync directory.
  228.     (Fixed)  If the desktop project filter was changed, but the project
  229.              file was not touched, the change in the filter was not 
  230.              picked during the next sychronization.
  231.     (Fixed)  Help button on HotSync customize dialog was not working.
  232.     (Fixed)  With specific combinations of localization settings, the
  233.              day and month of a start date constraint set on the handheld
  234.              would be reversed on the desktop during synchronization.
