- 1.0 General
- ============================================================
-
- Thank you for purchasing Natara Project@Hand. We hope you
- find this application a useful extension to your handheld
- device.
-
- Project@Hand installs in a 30 day evaluation mode. The
- full product feature set is avaialable for your use. After
- 30 days the conduit will no longer synchronize the projects
- until a product registration code is entered.
-
- NOTE:
- If you are upgrading from version 1.3.1, and plan to
- synchronize multiple Palm devices to the same desktop
- machine, remove all project configurations on the projects
- tab, then add the projects for each HotSync Manager user.
-
-
- ============================================================
- 2.0 Quick Start Steps
- ============================================================
-
- The following steps will get you up and running with
- Project@Hand.
-
- 1) Run the setup program from the Project@Hand CD. If
- the install files where downloaded from Natara's web site,
- unzip the files into a temporary directory and
- run the setup program from that location.
-
- 2) Run the Project@Hand configuration program from the Start
- menu (or the window left open on your desktop by the
- installation program). The default is location on the
- start menu is:
- Start->Programs->Natara Software->Configure Project@Hand
-
- 3) Respond "Yes" to the message box question to install the handheld
- application during the next HotSync. This question is only
- presented the first time you run the configuration program.
-
- 4) Switch to the "Projects" tab and click the Add button. Use
- the standard file open dialog to select the Microsoft
- Project 98 file you want to use on your Palm Computing device.
-
- 6) Click OK to save your configuration and exit.
-
- 7) Perform a HotSync. The Project@Hand application is now installed
- on your handheld.
-
- 8) Perform a second HotSync. Your project is now installed on your
- handheld and is ready for use. (NOTE: The second HotSync is only
- necessary after you first install Project@Hand. After that, your
- project database and file will by updated with each normal HotSync.)
-
-
- ============================================================
- 3.0 Uninstalling
- ============================================================
-
- If you uninstall Project@Hand, you may be asked if
- mfc42.dll can be deleted. It appears that the installation
- of the HotSync Manager does not properly reference count
- this DLL. Respond to the uninstall prompt asking it not to
- delete the DLL.
-
-
- ============================================================
- 4.0 Product Limitations
- ============================================================
-
- 1) This product only supports Microsoft Project 98 and
- Project 2000 running on Win95/98, Windows NT 4.0, and
- Windows 20000.
-
- 2) When synchronizing more than one MS Project file with
- your palmtop device, the file names must be unique within
- the first 28 characters.
-
- 3) The maximum size of a single task note is limited to
- 28 KiloBytes.
- When using a version of Project 98 before SR-1, notes are
- truncated at 256 characters. For this reason, we
- recommend that version SR-1 or higher be used.
-
- 4) Project@Hand is not intended to create new projects from
- the Palm Computing device. Microsoft Project 98/2000 is the
- best place to do that.
-
- 5) Synchronizing the same project on multiple Windows machines
- is not suggested at this time.
-
- 6) Due to a problem with the conduit and HotSync Manager, a
- maximum of 32 projects can be synchronized.
- If you exceed this limit, synchronization may silently fail.
