Clipper for Palm OS v1.x
Interim Documentation
Note: this is just a quick read me file to let you familiarize yourself
with Clipper for Palm OS. There WILL be a full manual (with pictures) in
time.
Basically, Clipper allows you to have an unlimited clipboard. You
can select some text, move to a different application, and paste it in,
and do this with multiple chunks of text. An example of it's usage might
be:
Receive an email with John Smith's phone number and email address.
Rather than have to jump back and forth between your email app and the
Names file, you could select "John", tap the Clipper trigger and select
"Copy Selected Text", select "Smith", then Clipper, and so on with the
phone number and email address. Then, switch to the Names file, create a
new record, and just jump from field to field, selecting the appropriate
item from Clipper in each one.
To configure Clipper, open the application in Application Launcher
and select "Preferences..." from the options menu. This will let you
select whether Clipper pops up from the upper left or the upper right of
the Graffiti area. The "When pasting from recent clips, remove them from
the list" checkbox determines whether clippings made using the "Copy
Selected Text" feature are saved, or discarded after the first time you
paste them. Clippings entered directly into Clipper itself have a checkbox
at the bottom which determines this. The "Insert a space before pasting"
option offers the ability to have Clipper paste a space before pasting the
selected text.
Finally, you can enter Clippings right into Clipper's main application
itself. Just tap the "New" button and enter some text into the line. You
can make an item into a sub-menu by selecting the "Sub-Menu" button. Then
tap the "New" button at the bottom of the edit screen to create new sub-
items. To edit an item or sub item, just tap on it.
Clipper is shareware (or demoware) and will work for 30 days before
expiring. If you wish to register Clipper, it's $12, and can be purchased
