Caliper simulates, on the Palm screen, a hardware caliper for measuring
the length or diamter of small objects.
Caliper Instructions -
To run Caliper on your Palm Pilot you must Hotsync the following the files into
your Palm Pilot:
1) Caliper.prc or CaliperDemo.prc 2) CASLrt_pro.prc
Note: Caliper.prc measures objects up to 2.18" in length.
CaliperDemo.prc measures objects up to 1" in length.
These files will be found in the C:\Palm\Add-on directory after the Caliper.exe
self-extracting file is run.
The file, Caliper.prc requires that the CASLrt_pro.prc file be present on your Palm before it can operate. After you have Hotsynced these two files into your Palm, there will be two icons visible on the applications screen. To run Caliper, simply tap on its icon. You do not have to be concerned with the other icon that represents CASLrt_pro.prc.
To use Caliper to measure the length or diameter of an object, place the object on or near
the Palm screen center. Tap on the "Left" button to enable moving the left marker. To move
the left marker, tap on the horizontal, double line button near the botton of the screen.
The same follows for the "Right" button.
Position the left or right marker close to the left and right edge of the object that is
being measured. Use the "<" or the ">" buttons to fine adjust the position of each marker.
NOTE: THE FOUR HARDWARE BUTTONS, TWO ON THE LEFT AND TWO ON THE RIGHT WILL ALSO FINE
ADJUST THE MARKERS.
The inner edge of each marker should be as close as possible to the outer edge of the
object being measured. The length in decimal inches and decimal millimeters will be
displayed in real time at the bottom center of the screen.
The accuracy is between 1/64th and 1/32nd of an inch.
