  7. This digital world clock is a must for global traveler! Set your home
  8. location then choose four world locations from the extensive database
  9. provided and it will show you the exact time in each location,
  10. automatically adjusted for daylight saving. AirTime has precise time zone
  11. and daylight saving information for every country in the world plus nearly
  12. 1000 cities (in the optional full database). Create up to eight custom
  13. entries to personalize the display. Easily update your device clock to the
  14. new local time on arrival at your destination. AirTime has optimum support
  15. for all monochrome, grayscale and color devices.

  17. AirTime supports Palm Computing« devices running Palm OS 2.0 (or later).
  18. This includes PalmPilot Professional, Palm III series (including IIIc),
  19. Palm V/Vx, Palm VII/VIIx, Palm m100, Handspring Visor, IBM WorkPad series,
  20. TRGpro, Qualcom pdQ, Symbol SPT series and similar devices.

  22. The minimum amount of free storage required is 50KB.

  25. INSTALLATION
  26.  
  27. To install AirTime, select the following files with the Palm Install tool to
  28. queue the application and optional database for installation on the next
  29. HotSync:

  31.    AirTime.prc          (AirTime application)
  32.    AirTime2000.pdb      (Full world database)
  33.  
  34. The optional full database contains entries for all countries/time zones
  35. (over 300 countries plus nearly 1000 cities). If you do not install this,
  36. the AirTime application will use an internal database of some 200 countries
  37. and 100 cities only. The full database can be installed at any time.
  38.  
  39. The application and databases will be automatically backed up on your
  40. computer (as required) on successive HotSyncs.

  43. OPERATION
  44.  
  45. AirTime has two displays: Home and World. Select the desired mode by
  46. tapping on the appropriate tab at the top of the display. Also, if you've
  47. assigned AirTime to one of your hardware buttons (with the Prefs
  48. application), repeatedly pressing this button will flip modes. Set the mode
  49. you want AirTime to start with by tapping the Menu silk-screened button and
  50. selecting Preferences from the Options menu.

  52. AirTime has been designed to be fully self supporting on your device. For a
  53. description of each mode, tap the Menu silk-screened button and select Help
  54. from the Options menu. For help on dialogs, tap the small i (information)
  55. at top right of each dialog.

  58. REGISTRATION
  59.  
  60. AirTime is shareware. You may use this software for a period of up to 14
  61. days from installation for evaluation purposes. If you find the program
  62. useful and continue to use it, you are required to register (pay for it).

  70. You'll need to provide your device's HotSync/User name when you register.
  71. This is the name you chose for your device when the Palm Desktop software
  72. was installed. If you've forgotten what this name was, it is displayed in
  73. the top right corner of the device display at the completion of a HotSync
  74. operation. It is also displayed in the Name field of the AirTime
  75. Registration dialog.

  77. On registration, you'll receive a personal license code that will cause the
  78. banner to be no longer displayed and enable you to continue using the
  79. software after the evaluation period. You'll also get free upgrades and
  80. technical support (e-mail only). Annual world database updates will be
  81. available for download each year in January.

  84. TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  88. your device type and model, Palm OS version and AirTime version.

  91. KNOWN ISSUES
  92.  
  93. 1. There is a bug in Palm OS 3.1 through 3.3 that may cause alarms to be
  94. lost or delayed when the device is powered off. This is not restricted to
  95. AirTime but affects alarms for other applications including the built-in
  96. Date Book. If you experience such problems, a soft reset (see your device
  97. manual) is reported to be an effective fix. Owners of flash enabled devices
  98. should upgrade to Palm OS 3.5 (when available). For more info, see:

  102. 2. Installation of a corrupted database (.pdb file) will cause AirTime to
  103. crash! Check that your unzip utility does not have an option to "translate
  104. line end characters" enabled. The Macintosh ZipIt utility is a common
  105. offender.
  106.  
  107. 3. If you have FlashPro (or a similar utility) installed, you can reclaim
  108. storage by moving the provided files (application and database) to flash
  109. memory. Moving applications with alarms set can cause crashes so you are
  110. advised to disable the AirTime "Monitor DST changes" Preferences option
  111. prior to moving the application to/from flash memory. This also applies
  112. when performing a Defragment Flash operation when the application is in
  113. flash memory.
  114.  
  115. 4. Some third-party application launchers don't cleanup correctly prior
  116. to passing control to AirTime which can cause AirTime to crash when the
  117. banner is dismissed. Contact the author of the launcher for a fix.
  118.  
  119. 5. AirTime is not currently compatible with PalmPilot Personal devices.
  120.  
  121. If you experience other problems running AirTime and have HackMaster or
  122. replacement application launchers installed, first disable these to
  123. determine the cause of the error. Such hacks and launchers may modify the
  124. operating environment of your device. If you find an incompatibility,
  125. please report this to the author of the hack/launcher.

  130. AirTime is Year 2000 compliant. The operating date range of this software is
  131. January 1, 1904 to December 31, 2031 inclusive.
