  2. Congratulations on acquiring AddrBeam V2.0 for Palm III and Palm V

  5. ____Installation

  7.  - New Installation. (Using HotSync)
  8.  
  9. Install the "AddrBeam.prc" file by using the install application that is included with your Pilot Desktop software.  
  10.  
  11. Please follow the underlisted steps to install any Palm Pilot application (<filename>.prc ) or refer to your Palm Pilot documentation (shipped with the device)

  15. Install the  Pilot Desktop organizing software,shipped originally with the device, if you haven't done so.

  17. You can skip these steps if you are already familiar with installation steps
  18.  
  19. **************    INSTALLATION STEPS   ************************

  21. 1) Go to Pilot Desktop organizing software, shipped originally with the device.
  22.     (Tip : Look for an icon Palm Desktop)
  23.  
  24. 2) Start the Palm Install tool.
  25.  
  26. 3) Click "Add" to browse and select the downloaded application.
  27.  
  28. 4) Click "Done".
  29.  
  30. 5) Place the Palm Device in the cradle.
  31.  
  32. 6) Press the HotSync button on the Palm Pilot.

  34.     ..............    the application will get transferred and is ready to use.

  40. ____Getting started
  41.  
  42.     The application allows an address card to be beamed to/between Windows CE based devices, Palm III/V devices ans PSion devices.

  45. (a) Install the .prc file in the device.
  46.  
  47. (b) Keep the remote device in line with your device so that the InfraRed ports of both devices face each other. Now tap "Beam" Button to transfer the selected address card to the remote device.

  49. The Sent card will be added on the remote device's address book.
  50. In case of receiving duplicate address card (card with same First Name, Last Name, Email, and Home Phone as that of one or more of the existing address cards), choose from::
  51.     OverWrite   ---  Remove the existing card, and add the received card
  52.     Append      ---  Add the received card and leave the existing card as is
  53.     Discard     ---  Do nothing

  57. ____Useful tips for using the program
  58.  
  59. (a) You can search for a particular record by typing the starting characters of either the Title, or First Name, or Last Name in appropriate edit boxes and tapping the "Find" Button.

  61. (b) Extended search can be performed to search on either of these above fields while unchecking it ensures only those cards that satisfy all the criteria given are listed.

  63. (c) You can beam all the address cards in one go by selecting "Send All" option from the main from menu.

  66. ____Known Bugs

  68. (a) In case both the devices try to beam at the same time, the application on Palm III/V may require Soft Reset.

  74. (a) While beaming and address card from a Windows CE device, some information is discarded, as Palm III/V devices store lesser information in an address card.
