  5. You just have to use the install-tool of your palm-desktop. There you have to
  6. choose the file 1ofUs.prc.
  7. In the next Hotsyncsession the programm will be transfered to your PalmPilot.

  11. This little utility is usefull to remove double data from your standard applications
  12. like DateBook, Address, ToDoList, MemoPad. These double datarecords often appear, using
  13. EasySync.

  15. How to use

  17. After starting up, the program will show you an Alert with a introducing window. You
  18. may either press the OK-Button or you push the "i" for further information. Now you will
  19. find yourself on the mainpage of "1 of Us".
  20. You have to mark the databases which you want "1 of Us" to work on by clicking onto the
  21. checkboxes. ( Another Possibility is to use the button "Mark All!")
  22. After pushing the "RUN"-button the program begins to work. At first it will only search
  23. the selected databases for double data records. This may take a while. How long it takes
  24. depends on the size of the database. Big Databases whith thousands of records may take
  25. a few hours to be done. You always have the possibility to cancel the search process by
  26. pressing the "Cancel"-button.
  27. The progress of the search will be displayed by a progressbar and the amount in 
  28. percentage.
  29. You have to know, that this bar will be accelerated in time. ( 50% of the progressbar
  30. means that the algorithm has checked 50% of the records on the other hand that means
  31. that the rest will be compared faster, because the last 50% of data hasn't to be 
  32. compared to the first 50% anymore)
  33. After finishing the search "1 of Us" will ask you ( for every single database) if you
  34. want to mark the found double records. This doesn't mean that "1 of Us" really will 
  35. delete them.
  36. For the 3 applications Address, ToDoList and MemoPad it means that these double records
  37. will be moved to a special category called 1ofUs. Now you can use your standard
  38. applications to examine the records, to move them back to another category or to delete
  39. these records manually. If you want to get rid of all the double data records you may
  40. use the menu delete to remove the whole category 1ofUs with all its contents.
  41. An exception is the application DateBook. This application doesn't know categories. If
  42. you mark these records it means that those will be copied to a special database. You now
  43. can use the entry DateBook in the menu "delete" to handle the double data. There will be
  44. a table which shows you all the double entrys by date, time and description. Then you
  45. may select single records ( or use "Mark All"). There are two buttons: One is to delete
  46. these records finally. The other is to restore them to the DateBook.
  47. If you have marked some records without deleting or restoring all of them afterwards,
  48. and if you have marked newly created double data later by "1 of Us", there will be
  49. several "Sessions" of records to delete. These sessions are selectable in a combobox at
  50. the top right corner where date and time of the session is shown.
