  8. Required Operating system : Palm OS 2.0 or above including Palm IIIc

  10. Game Description:
  11.  
  12. Become Number One racing driver driving around 10 challenging tracks.
  13.  
  14. How do I play? 
  15.  
  16. Rapid Racer has 4 modes of play for you to try, All the modes are
  17. selected from the main title page.
  18.  
  19.  1. Practice
  20.      This mode lets you practice driving around the tracks without worrying
  21.      about hitting any other cars. When you have had enough practice
  22.      select 'Quit to Mainmenu' from the menu bar to return to the title
  23.      screen.
  24.  2. Single Race
  25.      This is a single race against the 3 computer controlled cars.
  26.      When you click on the 'Single Race' button a page will be displayed 
  27.      showing the currently selected track. Use either LEFT or RIGHT keys
  28.      or the << and >> buttons to select a track, Then push the 'Select'
  29.      button or the UP key to start racing.
  30.  3. Mini Grand Prix (Registered Only)
  31.      In this mode you race against the computer on all 10 tracks with a
  32.      score board being held.
  33.      You score 2 points for coming first and 1 point for coming second.
  34.      At the end of all 10 races the winner is the one with the most points.
  35.      If at any time you quit out of the Rapid Racer application you will be
  36.      given the option continue from the last race when you next
  37.      select 'Mini GP'.
  38.  4. Infrared Racing (Registered Only)
  39.      In this mode you can race head to head with someone else running
  40.      Rapid Racer on their Palm Pilot.
  41.      To start this mode point each Palm Pilot at one another.
  42.      One of the players must then click the 'IR Race' button, This Palm
  43.      Pilot will then become the master and must select the track to race on.
  44.      The race will then start on both palm pilots.
  45.  
  46. In all four modes the game is played the same.
  47. The Palm Pilot UP and DOWN keys will speed up and slow you down accordingly. 
  48. *Hint* Don't speed up and slow down at each corner, Set your speed 
  49. to a reasonable pace and only speed up and slow down when overtaking.
  50. Go too fast and you will have to skid round all the corners.
  51.  
  52. The preferred LEFT and RIGHT keys are set on the options page and these
  53. will turn you car clockwise or anti-clockwise.
  54. Also if you are stopped you can push the key defined as BACKWARDS to
  55. reverse your car.

  57. Why should I register?

  68. Install instructions:

  70. This zip package contains 2 Palm Pilot files called named 'racer.prc' and
  71. 'tracks.pdb'
  72. Both these files should be installed using the Palm install tool supplied
  73. with every palm pilot.
  74. When this is done an icon will appear on the Palm pilot shaped like a
  75. Racing Car, Click this icon to run the game.

  79. This game is a demo version which will let you try the software to see 
  80. if you like it. The full version costs only 9 dollars.
