  5.   INSTALLATION:

  8.   Hoards  of the  Deep Realm is designed for the  Palm Computing Platform.  
  9.   'hoards.prc'  and  'lode_original.pdb'  should  be  installed  into your 
  10.   handheld  device using the  instructions  provided by the  manufacturer.  
  11.   The appropriate  display mode (black and white, grayscale or color) will 
  12.   be used when the application is started.

  14.   Hoards of the Deep Realm is an unofficial port  of the "LodeRunner" game
  15.   originally developed by Douglas E.  Smith and  published  by  Broderbund 
  16.   software  in 1983.  Douglas E. Smith  or Broderbund  software have  been
  17.   involved in the development of this software.

  37.   You should install the  latest version of Hoards of the Deep Realm  onto 
  38.   your device. Hoards of the Deep Realm can be installed and executed from 
  39.   flash memory!

  47.   HOW TO PLAY:
  48.   ============

  50.   Start Hoards of the Deep Realm by tapping on the application icon in the 
  51.   application launcher.  After a short while,  you will be presented  with 
  52.   the main Hoards of the Deep Realm screen in which you may select a level
  53.   set to  edit (only  custom level  sets) or to play,  and  setup any game
  54.   configuration options.

  56.   Using the hard keys or the stylus, you must move John  Bandit to collect
  57.   all the gold available in a level. Use your vaporizer to  blast holes in 
  58.   turf for  trapping  monks (who  may  carry gold),  creating  routes  for 
  59.   escapes or paths to  buried objects. When all gold  is collected,  extra 
  60.   routes may be shown. Guide John to the top of the screen to  continue to 
  61.   the next level.

  63.   Monks patrol each level and getting caught by one results in death. They
  64.   can pick up objects and may drop them or need to be trapped to give them
  65.   up. They can be killed if trapped for tool long and will re-appear.

  67.   Consult your handheld device manual for instructions of selecting a menu 
  68.   item. When a game is active,  you may tap the speaker icon at the bottom 
  69.   left  of the screen to get to the  configuration screen.  It is possible 
  70.   to pause the current game in progress by tapping the paw icon.

  72.   REGISTRATION:

  75.   Hoards of the Deep Realm is shareware,  the  demonstration  version does 
  76.   not allow the  player to  generate high score  codes or allow  more than
  77.   five levels be played in succession. To access  these features, a device 
  78.   identification  number  is  required  to  generate  a  unique  unlocking 
  79.   registration datafile.

  81.   You can get to the registration screen by  selecting the 'Register' menu 
  82.   item in the 'Game' menu.  It is very  important to ensure  that you copy 
  83.   down the device identification exactly as it is presented in this dialog
  84.   as follows:

  88.   It is  very common that users copy down this information incorrectly and
  89.   hence delay the registration process. An exact match is required for the
  90.   restration process to succeed.

  92.   REGISTRATION IS FREE - however, you will be required to fill in a survey
  93.   asking for minimal information about your Palm Computing Platform  usage

  105.   'Register Your Score'  dialog.  This will  only appear  if you  beat the 
  106.   internal high score or if you request it using the menu option under the 
  107.   'Score' menu on the main page.
